Aaah, using the old "we're gonna make PC great, then we'll consider consoles or other platfforms".
As if things work like that. If you're fully PC focused for your gamedesign, you're not gonna be able to make a console game without butchering everything. These things need to be thought out in advance, so when the console versions are made, everything flows nicely, because it was already in place.
We will see, but id say its unlikely they're gonna make a console version of this.

I spectated a few matches in this beta. The graphics are not as bad in person, looking at it without the compression and loss of details that you get from watching online videos. Its more manageable than it appears at first. But of course, its far from the quality we would all want. Its especially annoying when you think that both Age 3 and Company of Heroes were at the absolute peak of graphical prowess.
I only really care about the singleplayer campaign, hopefully they didnt fuck that up

I played 90 minutes of this.
Graphics are fine. This is the successor to AoE II. For me, the gameplay was very smooth.

Tried the tutorial only and it was funny how the part where you must attack the first (infinite) enemy asks you do choose your group of soldiers, then LEFT CLICK on an area, but doesn't tells you must press A o click the "Attack" button at the bottom left then left click on an area to "Attack everything in your path"
Else the tutorial won't continue (You can't right click the enemy unit with the sword icon, and if you let your units auto kill him it won't progress the tutorial)
Might give an AI battle a chance later, but c'mon
Also camera with middle mouse click hold goes INVERSE and there's no way to make it go the usual way

Back in 2005, at E3, IGN awarded Age 3 best of show PC graphics.

What contrast to the visuals on display here. The minimum req are intel integrated graphics and a nearly 8 year old 970 for recomended. The water rendering in 16 year old Age 3 legit looks better than what they have here. They went too far with the idea that the game should run on everything.

It's no surprise the visuals are lacking because developers focused on multiplayer. They want to turn it into an e-sport. And for that reason, they need to make sure that people can play it on Mongolian toaster ovens. I'm disappointed by the graphics, but I hate the UI. It feels very cheap and uninspired. They could've put more effort there if they wanted to. Otherwise, it's not bad, and it fulfilled my expectations for the most part.

I sure hope they put some effort into the singleplayer campaigns. Some people like to insist on the importance of multiplayer for RTS games, but every classic title in history has had a solid campaign.
But the fact that they use not one but two of the campaigns in Age 2 when they have the entire world as disposal doesnt fill me with confidence

you can play test only multiplayer, i started to invade enemy base and was one step to win and game crash  , anyway this game is hardware hungry for no particular reason, graphics are not mind blowing, probably they will polish that in final game. I was playing game for 10 minutes and started to smell something like burned dust, i immediately run to another room and though it was mining rig i have but in there everything smells ok, then i smell my pc and omg, it smells from there and i saw gpu 3070@78C! in afterburner. So it was shift delete until final game. Game it's not bad, but nothing spectacular.
Why walk, when you can ride.
