Not defending the game. I think it's underwhelming also.

i did that yesterday, worked fine, this morning you get to the main screen and it says you havent been online in 30 days, connect to battlenet to prove online privileges, so atm, at least for me its not working... update, i restarted the game and its back to working fine now, am in act 2 atm

The game will be cracked, most likely, the quesion is, if the scene has the motivation doing this...
D3 was eventually got cracked. BUT it took years and server emultor for that. Maybe it may be better go for Switch emulation for now.

For now, mods are single player only, so this mod will be single player native.
Takes lots of inspiration from Median XL, but better.
New skill trees, monsters, items, etc.
Uses new D2R functionality like monster scaling to communicate elite monsters, etc.
Should take a few months for the initial version, further development goals depend on community input.
Let's hope Blizzard will add TCP/IP back at some point

First it’s 40$.
2nd everything is redone, first was sprite based, this is fully 3d with insane lighting and materials. It looks crazy good especially in dark areas where spells light everything up.
You can mod d2 as much as you want it’ll still look old and dated as fuck.
In A2 atm and loving the shit out of it.

That's the thing. People still says "It's a REMASTER" when i say it's a full REMAKE...

I'd pay again if only it was offline OFFLINE like the one that's on my BNET account... THough sure everything now is online only (except GOG ... "Except" it's recent adquisition, HITMAN 2016...)

It's not a remake. The old game literally runs underneath Resurected. You can press a button to toggle the old graphics. Remake means ... redoing a game, you keep the name but you're making something else. This is 1:1 Diablo 2 with a new coat on it.

remake = reinterpretation... this is why remakes rarely are good.. this is clearly a remaster. Blizzard calls is a remaster too, "remastered and upgraded".

Yeah, it has atmosphere, charm, it's proper dark medieval fantasy, it gives freedom in terms of RPG systems, but some systems / features are too old.
A better inventory system, the combat, transmog... I miss these from D3.

Totally agree with this. The dark atmosphere and the updated graphics are wonderful. However, the old gameplay controls make it kinda annoying.
Will finish it because I want to experience the whole upscaled game but will most likely go back to D3 afterwards.

Already did so, after the open BETA testing (which I could only play for 2 hours or so, due to how annoyingly much I 'felt' that things were missing from the game).
D3's combat and world were much, MUCH more engaging / diverse. It also reminded me that it's a very good game, after all. |

Got a refund game pretty much still has the same bugs as the beta from what i can see and performance constantly goes to shit for me for some reason. I really don't feel like dealing with this atm and yeah D3 is much more fun nowadays for me as well.

Times change, people change, our perceptions and brain change over time.
Whatever memory one has on D2 is in sync with standards one had back then (aka lower, different). Today, 2000 years later, those values have changed. Often without realizing it.
So it's not completely unexpected to observe how different is today one's 'new' perception vs one's 'old' perception.

If we care about the people we surround ourselves with, we DO have to explain.
Not because they / we are stupid, but because communicating the proper, right message and making sure it has reached the destination properly / unaltered can be difficult, due to certain inherent problems (especially online discussions are always impaired by design, language, culture, limited expression, open interpretation etc.).
And this is a neutral statement, btw.

While I feel the game is not up to what it should be for a modern remake. Nostalgia also puts on some powerful rose glasses for you.
Great example. I use to LOVE, as in "best fucking game ever" asheron's call MMO.
Me and a friend in 2015..2016? Went to go try it for the 'old time feels'. Game was horrible, just frustratingly horrible by my evolved expectations and streamlined gameplay/UI/controls of games since. Controls was atrocious took me an honest 5 minutes to figure out how to move around and attack things using the clunky non-intuitive controls (no WASD for you!), trading was tedious as hell, finding people you was playing with in the world was painfully obtuse...we lasted an hour and went "Yea....no, we are done".

Tried the Zloe vers as noted above, just did not draw me in as it did back in the day, as someone said above (trawl through the bickering!) our perceptions and expectations have changed as is normal, what was excellent then is shite now, not just graphics, but the overall experience, I remember buying D1 on disk and was so blown away by it. Now hardly any game interests me, that is probably age as well as other stuff going on. But I do still play D3 every season, more out of habit than anything I think.
I certainly will not buy this unless its on a huge sale. 5 pence or something

The graphics are nice but boy, gameplay, frame sync mechanics are so goddamn outdated. Even the netcode is so trash where a slight lag will cause enemies to jump around the screen and laggy hits. It's actually slightly better to play with a gamepad. Going back and forth between the remaster and D3 and man... D3 is just so much better.

D3 was ruined for me with the skill system and how all damage is based on your weapon's DPS.
can't stand that shit
and it's ok now with the expansion and adventure mode, but the original way you had to play through that shitty story with cutscenes repeatedly... terrible. D2 never gets in your way with it's story stuff.
Still prefer D2 definitely. play through it with my friends every couple of years and having a blast every time
but I'll stick with the classic version.

you can get original Diablo 2 working widescreen and higher resolutions, but as far as i remember, you will get insta banned in bnet, only usable in cracked single player. Not sure why anyone would play old D2 over D2R, they are same game expect D2R looks 100x times better.
