How do I download the open beta? keeps bringing up origin but I got nothing there to download lol

Ryzen 5950x @ boosting 5ghz, Gigabyte x570 Aorus Master, 128gb G.Skill Trident Neo pc3600 ram, nVidia RTX 5080, SoundBlasterX G6, Samsung 980 Pro m.2 1TB and Hynix m.2 1TB storage SSD. Custom watercooling loop.

Launcherception!
I just clicked on Steam's 'Play the Derpfield 2042 Open Beta' and downloaded it from there - Origin should launch when actually starting the game as per usual with the EA-Gabe combo. |

I have seen number of people say it feels like its COD Warzone with a Battlefield HUD on it.
I have been disappointed with the last 2 Battlefields so I will have to give this one a try during this beta but overall I am not super hyped for it. Maybe the map for the beta and game mode are just a bad example for the overall game but that will not be known till the full release.

played a match yesterday (got access without preordering? gamepass ultimate did this somehow maybe?)
it was fun and ran well, but I got a beefy PC
wouldn't pay 60€ for it but I'd go for it for up to 25
128 players is pretty cool, looking around the map it was cool to see many smaller battles going on everywhere. nice battlefield vibe

for me i could just add the beta on steam or on origin and could download files on either

Weapons feels pretty good but as soon as you enter a vehicle it's like your playing with massive input lag. And view glitches and shakes around.

This is so bad. Glitches random frame drops and in vehicle the screen stutters all over. Like if dice has never made a battlefield game before.
An open beta from EA is more a marketing thing then a real beta, besides fixing some compatibility issues perhaps with certain hardware it's more of a demo to sell the game. At least it should be. This is in such a poor state like it's even doubtfull all the stuff will be fixed ar release.

Absolute jank.
The worst BF BETA I've played:
• microstuttering
• stuttering
• rubber-banding
• insta-kills
• same framerate (around 55) no matter the settings (MEDIUM vs HIGH - made no difference)
• everything feels so rough and it's obvious that this game version is still in development
• CPU hovers at around 100% almost all the time (i7 6700k)
• can't shoot from vehicle (gunner position), as the gun jitters and shakes all the time
There MIGHT be a good game under all this, though. Also, that 'Portal' game mode might still be fun if they iron out the tech issues.

The performance, UI, overall bugs and jankiness in the demo show a game that is FAR from being ready for release.
Will the game at launch be MUCH different than the demo?
Is there another 'branch' they are working on rn?
Are they way behind with development?
Does a bear shit in the woods?
Who the fuck is Alice?

It's practically unplayable for me (which isn't unexpected) so I can't quite form an opinion besides the obvious one where I point the finger at the arcade-y feeling and its underlying roughness. Indeed it feels like it's a product that needs a lot of time before it can qualify as presentable, not that it matters anyway.

Considering how dire the 30 fps playtest was the beta is an improvement. With beta getting average 70 fps (albeit with drops to 46 fps and leaps to 105 fps) but clearly bugs-a-plenty and the UI remains quite awful.
Won't be pre-ordering and will wait till its released and has been patched to fix the obvious issues.

Finally had a chance to play this for a few hours at Ultra settings. Feels buggy, much more like alpha instead of near-to-release ready version.
Tons of bugs from flying vehicles wrapping, pilots (sometimes many of them at the same time) sitting outside aircrafts etc..
The game could be fun IF/WHEN it is fixed with 5-10 friends to play with. Otherwise I wouldnt waste my money on this.

Is there really no way to get into a group of more than 4 people and enter a match? In a game that supports 128 players per match?
