In contrast to all you grumpy punks I liked the Beta.
I wasn't thrilled about the setting timewise, but it's less futuristic than I feared.
Though Orbital won't be my fav map for sure, I'd like to see a match of Breakthrough with 128 players. That should be pretty awesome. I played BT in like 90% of all rounds in BF5, much more intense and teambased than Conquest-old-merry-go-flags-round.
I tested it with both a GTX970 and RTX3060, which was playable with DynRes and Low presets, but had hiccups and stuff. But def playable.
The RTX3060 was supersmooth in FullHD, High pres. Ryzen5 3600 and 16GB RAM.
Love the loading times
I'm a Heli-Pilot from Bf2 on and got approximately about 5000hrs in Helis as a pilot up to now. Prolly more. Dunno, the attack choppers feel clunky compared to BF3 and 4, much like a bomber from BF5. My biggest gripe is that I can't rebind roll and yaw, if you only ever played yawing with a mouse forget about the Beta and Helis. But they'll have that fixed. Little bugs which shouldn't be too hard to take care of.
I LOVE the OSPREY. Love it. You switch to flight mode and zoom to the flags, then you switch back, get stationary and let those two guns and the gren launcher rain fire on the point while 2 seats are open for the team to spawn and take the thing.
You don't see the assists yet, but I bet my gunners made 100s of kills so far.
The russian trans chopper is just meh compared to that, but I think it has a higher flight ceiling.
However the ability to just boom out of any missile lock with the Osprey is just heavenly. I always wanted a heli with plane-engines. 
Tanks are strong, but also clunky. And smths off with the hit reg in this build, 20% of the time your shots morph through targets. And just two tanks? That means 1 AA and 1 tank?! On this map? And jets and attack helis share the same 2 unit-pool?
This isn't final for Orbital, right?!
Game will be lots of fun playing in a good squad.
Now I just like to have Hazard Zone as a kind of special ops mission, when you and your squad have to achieve certain goals on a large scale map, against bots and maybe other players.
Always loved the scripted missions in BF3, I wish there were like 20 of them with some variation.
Not sure about the legacy mode though, if they use the old vehicle and weapon models with the new engine and BF5-like feel to it, it won't work. The Little Bird in 2042 feels like the Transport-Chopper from BF3. BF3 was fast-paced action, this has more of the slowed down-tactical approach from BF1 and 5 to it.
But let's see.
Cheer up you punks. 90% of all in here saying 'Shit, Won't buy. Mimimi-whatever' will buy it anyway. Prolly b4 Xmas.

I tried this for a couple of hours. Really tried to get in to it.
It was shit.
The engine is shit - stuttery and floaty.
Gunplay is simply ... so far behind COD, it's not even funny. But the worst thing is how kittery, how clunky it is.
This will fail hard.

IMHO BF5 is a better game overall. 2042 only offers a minor graphical update and 128 player maps are nice. And the game is in a very poor state atm so I see no reason playing the beta or buying it at launch. I'll probably will pick it up sometime under 20 euro's.

omg... so they really turned off the beta for Sunday.... 
anyway, the game looks nice, runs bad, missing features from previous games (Singleplayer, faction camos, lean, readable UI and many more).
It really seems like it needs 6 months of development. I would not be upset if they decide to delay it.

But COD fuckin works, for what it is. COD doesn't want to be many things. It wants to be COD. And they are numero uno, when it comes to that.
This POS BF is a third tier COD wannabe, with very clunky, stuttery, jttery feel to it.
Can't believe I am saying this about COD, but COD is a polished masterpiece compared to this steaming pile of shit, that can't even work on low without stutters and jank on a 3080 ti.
