I basically moved to 4k as soon as I got my c1 TV, though I still going full HD if it's only avliable for certian movies/TV series.

Get madvr on pc if Youj want to play hdr movies in media player classic.
Experiment with HGIG vs Dynmic Tone Mapping in in brightness settings int he tv.
As for audio - I found that disabling all ai, atmos and other stuff, enabling CINEMA audio preset and tuning bass boos (in the ai menu) yielded best results but 65" probably got more ooomhp in speakers |
I bearly using the TV speakers, In fact, I think I only used to test the LG "sound pro".
I have 7.1/5.2.1 home theater system connected to my TV, so it's either eARC or directlysound from my PS4/PC to my Denon recierver.

Which is better versions? Hdr10+ or Dolby visions?
I have C1 which support DV and HDR10, but not plus but I guess it's not that big different.

Don't quote me on that but when I researched that a year or two ago it seemed to me that dolby vision is in theory the superior HDR implementation.
I think it has something to do with how DV can be adjusted how it interprets the colors/brightness throughout the movie, whereas HDR10 it's fixed.
not sure about HDR10+

Can someone help me understand few topic?
I watch movies on lg c1 connected to my pc. It's my monitor.
Using media player home cinema and madvr (the old old release since it's not worked on for years).
1)First of all - DV is just not happening right? I couldn't find a way to make Dolby Vision movies work on windows. On netflix built in tv app, no problem.
2)Question about audio in these 4 releaes. There is usually trueHD, ac3, dts and so on to choose from. I am never changing that. Should I? I am just watching on tv speakers (with all ai stuff and dolby atmos disabled in tv. essentially pcm) or on stereo headphones connected to the pc.
Media player classic is taking care of that, right ?

DV is proprietary tech, there is some sketchy support for W11 afaik but it only supports a couple of licensed games , not third party apps (i.e. mpc in your case) -- i might be mistaken though

The only time DoVi works on my C9 is when I play native app content eg Netflix. Nothing seems to work outside of that (ie Plex). I’ve tried so much different content but ended up just avoiding DV releases until I get a newer LG TV

As far as I know - no player is capable of playing Dolby Vision. However, going through Plex they run completely fine on my LG G1, so I guess it should be the same for C1 since both are from the same generation.
