Dune: 4/10 Way too long..Boring..Slow..Missed half the dialog because it sounded like they were mumbling. The trash continues to flow from hollywood on the heels of Halloween.

Spice Boy from Dune - 7/10
Majestic and technically grand, it's an absolute feast for the eyes. Sadly, I was quite surprised by how humdrum most of the story was, with both its dialogues and the characters' dynamics that felt more on the tripe-y side than I was anticipating. There was nothing really off-putting in it though, and to be honest, I had no idea what I was going to find here since if we exclude the ol' strategy game it's the first time that I interact with something from the sandy Dune universe. All I knew is that it wasn't exactly Anakin's favourite vacation spot.
It's the Villeneuve movie that I enjoyed the least, which still makes it more interesting than 95% of Hollyboobusters around as they have the tendency to set the bar so low that not even the asshole-shaped worms can reach it. Hopefully Part II will properly deliver what the setting and premise deserved. Unless the psychic boy is a fraud.

Dune - 5/10
In someway I wanted this to be great but it didn't deliver. It felt too long and rushed at the same time. Too much time spend on Command & Conquer cutscene - look at our harvesters, harvester is attacked evacuate. I literaly was waiting to take control of the troops and do some missions.
Too little spend on character development - I didn't care for anyone, almost no one was flashed. Baron Harkonen is fat, floats and it's evil because someone said so. It was like read the book and then watch it because then you will know the back stories.
The dialogues were IMO cliche and short. 'Honor, honor - pat on the back - money, profit, kill, honor, destiny, Paul'.
It's a pretty movie in terms of sets and costumes - really gorgeous but when there's action it was CGI Westwood quality tm in high resolution.

Old Henry - 6,5/10
What would happen if Rambo was a cowboy? You get some answers here. The gritty suspenseful tone definitely keeps the movie alive, with Tim Blake Nelson doing what he does best. Dorff was good, too. The mildly exaggerated sections near the end alongside the wonky camera work ruined it a bit for me, but they're part of the old western customs.

Spiral (Saw reboot) 4/10
Chris, just stop it. Or somehow, change your voice dood. Also saw the twist coming as soon as "photo of muh family" popped up but actually thought they'd be dead on the photo or something like that.
The Green Knight and Ser Bumbling Dumbfuck 5/10
Great visuals, ultra meh story. Bumbling Dumbfuck establishes himself as a retard in the first 20-25 min and nothing else that happens can quite salvage the character for me after that, not even the ending.

Black Widow 0/10 - gave up after 30 mins. I like the character and the actor, but the movie was total shite and had nothing in it that made it worth watching.
shitloads of new stuff in my pc. Cant keep track of it all.

Titane (6.5/10)
Starts of very intriguing, with obvious influences/nods to Cronenberg, but the story takes a bit of a turn halfway (when she becomes a firefighter all of a sudden). So 7.5 for first half, 5.5 the second half.
Somewhat expected (hoping) a Citroën came honking out of her vagina at the end, but alas
This one did trigger a sequence of Carpenter/Cronenberg rewatches
John Carpenter's The Thing (1981) 9.5/10
Still one of my all time favorites, not much else to add. Effects still hold up and are still disgusting
Big Trouble in Little China (1986) (8.5/10)
Been a while since I saw this, and liked it more now. The pace is relentless and just keeps piling with more and more crazy shit happening
eXistenZ (1999) (8/10)
Funny how far ahead of its time some of Cronenberg movies were, conceptually. Not a coincidence, then, as it also has a very Philip K. Dick-like, paranoid atmosphere (and loved the Perky Pat reference!).
Some of the game-y stuff is also amusing, like NPCs looping until you ask them the right question.
Scanners (1981) (7.5/10)
Feels also very Philip K. Dick. Actually never saw this one before, and I wasn't too fond of the lead actor, Stephan Lack (never heard of him ). Would have preferred more Michael Ironside instead.
There must have been a door there in the wall, when I came in.
Truly gone fishing.

The Harder They Fall (2021) 4.5/10
Style over substance is what I saw when I watched this movie. Some of the action was ok, but the rest of the movie was everybody trying to act badass and philosophical with a score that was very hit and miss.
Grand-Daddy Day Care (2019) 2/10
I don't even know why I watched this movie, guess I just needed some dumb fun. But this was not even remotely funny and Danny Trejo didn't help it at all.

28 Days Later
7/10
It's been a while that I had seen it for the first time. It popped up on Disney+, so time for a rewatch. Oh boy, I forgot that this film was made with a potato camera and the opening scene was pretty bad. After that it gets better, and I enjoyed it.
Finch
7/10
Tom Hanks goes on an adventure, with a robot! Well done, and the robot was very likeable. Story is okayish.
