An since its Intel, you won't even be able to upgrade the CPU later.
I sidegraded my 1700X to a (second hand)3600XT last month for improved min-FPS with the 6900XT, on a x370. Because of that, managed to OC my Ram from 3200CL14 to 3800CL16 without even touching the voltage.

Hello mens, i'm extremely retarded when it comes to PC hardware, i've got an Z87 Pro mobo and an i5-4670k CPU, think i've more or less had this since 2013 or so, just wondering what recommended combo could you suggest for an upgrade? I'll be keeping my 1070 gpu, because card prices at the minute can go fuck. Thanks for any helps men.
50 euro am4 amd board and a second hand ryzen, any ryzen, doesnt matter 1700- 2700-3600-
save ur money, ur not getting anything worthwhile for it back atm and the am 4 platform should allow u upgradability if u do decide to get a new card in 2024
Step 1: Ignore any hardware advice from this dumbass.

Step 2: Profit.

2 slot cooler with 2x fans, i feel its gonna be hot boi with screeching sounds and its going be like 3060/ti performance (judging from the price). Cant wait to see how hard intel will fail with these things.
This bubble will burst once no one can build pcs anymore. Hope its sooner rather than later
100% agreed. As it is I couldn't afford an upgrade (whether mobo/cpu or GPU) even if I wanted to unless I went for an old gen lower end second hand GPU or a better 8x00/9x00 series CPU than I currently have.
A second hand 1070 is still going for ~300 € which is just ridiculous but in these times it's not really a surprise. Totally not worth it since they're old, have most likely been heavily overclocked or used as mining cards and there's no telling how long they will last.

this whole new mobo gen looks like u have to be mental to get now with so much new tech risk ... so many things that can go wrong and cause isseus with so many new things all at same time, new ddr5 memory, memory has the voltage controller on the chips, pci speed something v5 when v4 already had massive isseus
and as cherry on top fresh bugriddled win11 , this is gonna be such a stability clusterfuck im gonna enjoy watching from sidelines and picking up the cheap scraps in 2023 when i get my ddr 5 10.000 kits while everyone tries to figure out if its the ram, the os, the pcie, or all of the above giving them bluescreens roflol
