from soft isnt the biggest company out there and they need to sell games. if gfx get too good they only can sell it on pc,ps5 etc. which means less sales.ps4 etc have a bigger installbase. they need the dough. besides an openworld game with the gfx of demons souls wouldnt be so easy to realize for such a "small team". according to google cdprojectred ,depending on the situation, has 1k employees, rockstar games 2000+ employees and from soft has around 330+. Besides, gfx hoes like the ones who were complaining about bad gfx would still cry bcuz their gtx 3090 wouldnt be able to handle an open world demons souls level(gfx wise) game in 4k and 60fps.

its from softs 1st real open world game. Even veterans like cdprojektred had a disaster at their hand with cyberpunk on ps4.
i wouldnt say its that easy for a dev team to adapt to that especially if we consider people's claims that fromsoft is weak at tech stuff and arent really that good at it
The graphics reminds me a lot of Skyrim from 2011. The poor and super flat lighting especially, and how paper-like everything looks, especially LOD's. The characters and animations are better though + it can obviously be a good game even if the graphics are extremely dated.
Skyrim had around 100 people working on it btw, FromSoft are around 300 people, not sure they're busy with more games but...

dunno about their size then but we are talking about bethesda that had daggerfall fallout 3 morrowind and oblivion under their belt.(all open world games)

True, From Software is a small indie studio with more than 300 employees. They are not that poor either, the Souls series alone sold close to 30 million copies and their new game has a publisher. compared them size wise but downplaying it doesnt make you right either.
fromsoftware is a company that exists for a longer time but they only did dev niche games(kings field etc)in their early past but making an open world game is still something different.
games like skyrim even though having enough time and money always come out bugged af. I wonder why? Bcuz its a different beast entirely. Not because bethesda is too poor of a company or too small of an indie dev etc etc. prolly not to poor to change their entire gfx engine either but here we are looking at f76 or the upcoming anniversary edition of skyrim.

He describes everything like it's never been done before:
You can avoid doing things in the open world.
If you sneak and are in tall grass enemies will not see you.
You can sneak up and backstab an enemy.
Enemies can sound an alarm.
Enemies will stop pursuing you after a while if you run from them.
Here i stopped watching..
The game does NOT do open world better than 95%.. It's such BS. It doesn't even have swimming or diving like most full fledged open world games including latest assassins creeds. fall damage seems utterly retarded as well, a step in a more casual direction where you never need to be afraid to die from heights (personally i love that thrill from heights).

Sure, but you can also look at this from a different perspective. Four of these games have assets flipped in between them. One of them wasn't exactly finished and the PC port was despicable (Dark Souls). Another one of them was falsely advertised and as if that wasn't enough, they pulled a stunt with the final version as well (Dark Souls 2).
While I do understand why people sympathize with some companies, remember that these companies are not your friends...

The hype brain-washing machine paralleled with journo ignorance and corporate interests (paid previews / influencers) is absolutely massive for this game. No one is saying the game might NOT be good, but insinuating that innovation, here, comes from features that other (open world) games have done for years...

i just remembered the "best" part in the ShillUp preview... he sees some big birds, he thinks they are enemies, but no, he can kill them and they gave him resources for crafting!!! He was so amazed. Kill some useless animal for resources, wow, first game ever. 95% better than the rest! I can tell he's not shilling at all, that he's not paid per "make this element sound amazing."

Then why do people post these shit previews on here? These big youtubers, with some RARE few exceptions aren't genuine, sincere people. If you're not totally new you would know there are small youtubers who aren't paid or doesn't give a shit if this dev will not let them play their next game, promote those.
There's no charm to dishonesty or shilling. I don't believe for a second that this is his first open world game and he's flabbergasted that he can kill animals for resources, or sneak without being seen in tall grass, especially when he claims this game gets the open world theme right, while the rest ("95%") gets it wrong.
