Well, console versions are seemingly working at release and the PC versions are not. So, as of now, if you were naive enough to buy this on PC you're definitely getting more shafted than if you had bought a console version.

it needs the fog back so badly
the game's atmosphere is immense in the original but when you can see it all it just doesn't look right. country side has become tiny, the golden gate bridge doesnt seem so high up etc

That's what happens when you let talentless hacks (whose only experience is with simple Android/iOS ports) handle a remastering job on a completely new engine. They were clearly out of their depth and that shows in pretty much everything, from the goofy models to the plastic shiny surfaces, bad performance and inconsistent lighting.
RocksT2 cares very little if these remustards are trash, they will sell like hotcakes anyway so that they can channel funds to the next AAA project, the long-awaited seamless Shark-Cardnado VI

Not quite they only changed OEP from RS stub and used Goldberg emu, but .text sections still encrypted so if game for any reason tries to reach those parts will lead to problems.

Apples and oranges. Can't compare a console with a PC since the graphical settings, optimizations etc. won't be the same for the console version vs the PC version.

yeah it's hard to do direct comparisons when it comes to games, but there are benchmark tools that has been used on both PS5 and PC so they know how fast it can render when it comes to those.

Of course you can compare them, you can even buy the same api thats on ps5. Games are compared for years now. The PC fella from DF even gets exact console settings from the devs themselves on ocassion to compare with PC. He got them on Hitman 3, on Flight Sim, on Control, on the recent Forza Horizon 5, straight from the developers.
There are outliers where the consoles hit higher than usual or where we cant lower the settings low enough to compare. Some games use settings that are lower than lowest possible on PC, such as last year's COD, which had a higher performance profile than usual. Like Horizon now, or Death Stranding.
But these are outliers, 90+% of games on PS5 can be matched or exceeded with a 2060S - 2070

Afaik AMD doesn't have anything like Nvidia's RTX. The AMD CPU used is locked at 3.5 GHz.
It's a great gaming machine I'm sure.. but it's still not directly comparable to a PC which has a gazillion hardware options, overclocking and so many customization options. Using "console settings" on a PC for comparison isn't that straightforward either since those settings on a PS5 are specifically tailored for the standardized hardware it has. I doubt it's using the same shaders etc. for the settings/effects even if the setting is called the same. After all, they're two different platforms with different API's.
