maybe they should waste their time with putting out quality remasters instead of wasting their time restarting development over and over again or suing modders etc.

my point is they cant keep their shit together.
if they wouldnt have a golden egg laying hen (gta 5 shark cards) gta 6 would be handeled differently as well as the remaster trilogy.

they didnt announce a game for how long now having so many ips?
even elder scrolls 6 is announced at least.

The fact that people are angry with them for not releasing another RDR content / GTA game is proof how much their games are appreciated. Leaving aside the fun hours in (all) GTA games (that everyone and their grandma have played countless times!), I have over 500 hours in RDR2 (over 300 online) and I can't find any reason to be such an ass towards Rockstar.

For all as I know, even with the shitty GTA remusthave for derps, they could close the studio tomorrow and I'd still be pleased with what they have provided so far.

I didnt play rdr 2 nor gta 6 for hunderds of hours. Im more a sp guy even prefer gta 4 to 5 gameplaywise.

I already wrote whats wrong with them. If you want to defend them just do that but that doesnt show that my judgement s clouded but its yours imo.

Lets see if gta 6, if it ever comes out, will be the holy grail of gaming or a shark card infested water Smile Time wll tell.

Afaik they worked together.

But Im sure they didnt know that there was a shit port brewing:
1.No keys were given to reviewers before release for reviews
2.No real gameplay footage was shown
3.Base the port on the mobile version
4.Charge 60 dollars

Why couldnt they have given us the Mafia 1 definitive edition treatment?
A less popular franchise by a smaller studio charging less money?

The team wanted The Definitive Edition to maintain the feeling of the original games; as part of this, they copied the original physics code. They originally attempted to rebuild some of the main buildings from scratch, such as the player characters' houses, but noticed a discrepancy in quality compared to other buildings. Some assets were improved from the original games, while others were ultimately rebuilt entirely. The team used an artificial intelligence (AI) program to upscale textures before making manual adjustments; producer Rich Rosado estimated that over 100,000 textures were changed. The added navigation feature was also implemented with AI, using pathfinding as well as analysing the routes taken by the non-player characters, though it required some manual adjustments; the team found these implementations to be "easy wins" due to the existing technology. They wanted The Definitive Edition to run smoothly across all platforms while also taking advantage of the higher-end hardware.

The team studied all three games to determine their distinct qualities, such as Vice City's "bright neons" and San Andreas's orange sky.They added dynamic colours that shift throughout the day, and corrected the placement and movement of the Sun, Moon, stars, and clouds. They also changed some weather effects, such as the falling of rain and accumulation of puddles and their reflections. While the original games used "baked lighting"—"lighting [that] would just come from nowhere because we just need to light the scene"—The Definitive Edition uses the lighting from the sky, which forced the team to add artificial lights to avoid darkness in some locations, such as lampposts in alleys. All trees and foliage in the games, as well as some interior design elements, were replaced with higher-quality assets from Grand Theft Auto V; the team wanted them to naturally blend into the environment.

Rosado claimed that "the art challenge alone felt insurmountable early on" due to the scale of remastering three games simultaneously, particularly the immensity of San Andreas. The team avoided making the games look too realistic as they felt the characters—whose motion capture data was coded to the original caricaturised wire-frame models—would look out of place. They wanted the characters to maintain their original appearance, noting that the game "must look like you remember it". They faced difficulty when working on characters, as they felt that adding detail "where there was no detail before" might conflict with the "mental image" of the character designs that players possessed; the team consulted developers at Rockstar North, including some of the games' original artists. ​Much of the material from the original games—such as the source audio, textures, reference material, and character models—were unable to be found due to a lack of archives, as the original development team "never thought [they would] have to revisit these projects".

they've just ran everything through a smoothing tool so nothing is optimized or makes any kind of sense polygon wise. No wonder the game runs like absolute crap.

2 models like that are easily as demanding as the entire original map Laughing

My bet is this game has the highest polygon count of any game released to this date.

What is that topology?!! Eeeeewwwww! That was definitely ran through an automatic remesher and not a very good one. I thought the games looked nice from the initial trailer they put out, but seeing all kinds of things pop-up post-release, it's pretty clear this was an absolute mess of a project.
