It looks like a mixture of an X-Wing and a Viper from BSG, lol. The ship at the end looks like Yoda's ship in SWBFII

I likes it! Seems simplistic enough for now but I'm sure they'll add more stuff. But game is neat without it being too overwhelming.

Yeah, EA is scheduled to last at least 1 year. And only about 1/4 of the game is available in it (sector, ships and item-wise anyway). But it's fun none the less and with the Diego discount, it's a steal.

There are also nice ways to build synergies with your perks and "skills" and items seems very varied and can have some "fun" attributes, making even more synergies possible.

Hopefully they do everything well. I find that more or less every space combat/sim whatever lack one important thing or another.

Honestly I always itch for some nice space sim/combat game but the only one I could get into was Freelancer and EVE Online. Oh and Galaxy on Fire on my old Nokia E51. Rolling Eyes

The first Everspace was cool but somehow bored me after 5 hours. Just like others such as X2, DarkStar One, Independence War 2, Elite Dangerous and FLT. Should probably try No Man's Sky someday...

oddly enough you didn't mention X3 TC or Albion Prelude. Using Litcube or XRM conversion mods would give you hundreds of hours of pure spacesim joy.

And Everspace meh... it's just too childish looking and feeling

Yes, I know they are the best X games. I just didn't like X2's gameplay and formula and thought the sequel is same but improved, if you know what I mean. Like if you don't like the Subway sandwich's loaf it doesn't matter what they put in it. But perhaps should try it again... someday. Can't right now. Sad

Would be cool to be able to get off the ship and walk around stations / locations.

/sigh...

Too bad there's no gAme around that allows that...

Cool Face

Cool. I forgot about this one.

"Enlightenment is man's emergence from his self-imposed nonage. Nonage is the inability to use one's own understanding without another's guidance. This nonage is self-imposed if its cause lies not in lack of understanding but in indecision and lack of courage to use one's own mind without another's guidance. Dare to know! (Sapere aude.) "Have the courage to use your own understanding," is therefore the motto of the enlightenment."

This has nothing to do with Freelancer or old school "space sims". It's more arcade like and really made for kids imo.

Still waiting for a proper space sim. Elite dangerous is an empty shell of a game and Star Citizen..well...lol Smile

But Freelancer is very arcade. Though that game was made on a gigantic budget for the time, So i doubt this little kickstarter game matches it. It's production values were seeping from every pore and it was made over an astronomical amount of time. Like, 6 years i think ? Games today don't take 6 years, nevermind 1997. But Chris Roberts was being himself even then.

I can only hope this will be a pleasurable single campaign

After playing Elite Dangerous for quite a while, this game feels... so casual and for kids.

The way you control the ship is... Laughing

But visually it looks really good.

I haven't touched the game yet since I was waiting for the mythological 1.0 version, but (unlike the first Everspace which was a simple rinse and roguelike) its approach should be quite similar to the ol' Freelancer: open world with both side quests and a main story/campaign, fast-paced pew pew-y combat with no physics and lite RPG elements sprinkled in.

Could be interesting on paper as long as one doesn't expect much from it. I guess that will also depend on the quality of the writing/dialogues (the recent-ish Chorus for instance was a sad trombone in that regard). We'll see soon enough Very Happy

I too forgot this one. Played the initial early access and then shelved it - completely forgot it existed. We'll see - hopefully it's good for at least a 15 hour timesink or so.
