Think "fan made movie" with a high budget but cringe story, cringe dialogue, cringe everything, trying to be meta but failing miserably and falling flat on it's face.
It's almost like (tinfoil hat time again) the Wachowski's got tired of constantly getting nagged to do more Matrix movies and they decided that Lana would destroy the franchise by making a really shitty one. In the end the movie kind of explains it all.
Nope it's just a shit sequel no one wanted to make or see. There's no InTenTioNaL sabotage this story was finished (in one movie as well), it can always be rebooted/reimagined/prequeled/sebooted without the wakowskies.
Obvious bad movie was bad, its sabotage! Assholes! Matrix 5 will be better.
Still haven's seen it but at the "it's a bad movie on purpose" theories.
Because even if that was the case, then it would be quite a way to shit on your fans.

The movie felt like a introduction , like it doesnt feel finished .... first 3 movies seem that they had an enemy , smith ... here is just a romance with not one epic character . Feels like a part 1 movie out of 2.
all I wanted from this were some matrixy martial arts fights like the many great ones we have in the original trilogy but the action here was bland and badly filmed where the only like 3 or 4 cool things were already in the trailer to make you think there's more like that.
no great ideas, no great shots, no great choreography, no great music, no great acting and directing
if there's anything good about this it's that it makes matrix 2 and 3 look a lot better next to it I guess... (I liked those anyway despite their problems, just not nearly as much as the first)
Likot Mosuskekim, Woodcutter cancels Sleep: Interrupted by Elephant.
Oh what in the Chuck Palahniuk was this whole thing?
First quarter was all ok. A 7/10. The rest: are wachowskis having trouble getting people to sign off on their high art ideas? Like that was mean. Still a 7/10. But the last 15 minutes bring it down to 2/10.

The first half wasn't even that bad. But when Derpeo meets DPH in the garage and DPH starts the exposition dump, it goes downhill real quick.
The montage of the young codebro tardos throwing ideas about the sequel and Derpeo going nuts, is exactly how I feel when young codebros speak about app architecture or Swift or imperative vs React or fucking monad fucking functional programming, etc.
The first 33% was actually good, some originality, switching to more of a comedy and having Neo bumble around in this self aware shitty cash grab reboot idea. "Idea's are the new black" lol, the cringe supporting cast and even the stunts were intentionally meh, it had me interested.
Then for whatever reason they tried to 180 and give dude bros what they came for, wire-fu member this same thing from earlier movie?! and taking itself seriously wtf
It's getting poor reviews - but for the wrong reasons.. 1/10 not enough of the same wire-fu lasers!

I think it's a good movie for simple entertainment. 6,5/10
Many scenes have too many takes and the blur-vision stuff is absolutely disgusting and unncessary. I like how they made a mockery of modern corpo biz but there was too much of this cringe-fest for me.
The whole story seemed to build something bigger for sequels but since it's lacking innovation of the first movie, I find it highly unlikely to even get a STS sequel or cheap animated follow-up.
Another thing was action scenes which were like series of parodies themselves, especially shooting. There was no oomph to them, let alone the ridiculous concept of trained shooters missing every shot 6ft away.
SMITH was a complete disappointment as an agent. The guy lacks presence and is like a parody of Hugos version. Should be recast (if they somehow manage to greenlight a sequel) for sure.
Overall, I'm hoping Lana, Keanu and CA intentionally made a parody version due to studio pressure.
This is really baaaaaaad - 3/10... It is like a stupid fanfic...
Edit:omg it had budget 190m.... Where it went? I mean all the actors except of neo and trinity is cheap tv series... Cgi is like from direct to video movie.... Wadafuk....
The first ~40 seconds pretty much reinforce my view that this movie should never have been made and that Lana Wachowski only did it because WB would've taken it into their own hands and put random people on doing it (which in hindsight might have been a better choice) and felt that it should stay "in the family" since it was their brainchild to begin with even though there were no plans for or even a plausible way to make a sequel to a completely finished trilogy.
This is definitely a dark spot in Keanu's career as well as a sorry-ass shit addition to the Matrix fanchise.

TBH Wachowskys only did two good movies in their career (or three if you really, really like Speed Racer watching which ended in literal headache for me). I didn't expect anything good from this, they still ride on the Matrix fame which I don't understand - not being critical about somebody because he did that one good thing.
As goes for Keanu, great guy apparently but IMO mediocre actor, his resume has a lot of bad movies so this doesn't change much.

Bound, the first Matrix and they wrote Assassins. I don't think anything else Wachowski has been any good (maybe V for Vendetta but i can't stand that movie).
The new Smith actor was horrible wtf was he calling him Tom and Thomas and not Mr. Anderson like he did in the first 3 movies they should have tried harder to get the original back....
I do not understand the purpose of this movie, it felt more like a weak reboot with the original actors but they aren't original anymore.....
They did foreshadow the movie like star wars did, that was a major part of the first 25 min..... I bet the WB execs thought it was brilliant they made fun of the entertainment industry for so long and to the ass hats that were offended by the after credit catrix scene they are the problem......
Watched this yesterday, looks like some soap opera with shit vfx, even the slow motion shit was bad, i mean they did not bother use real slow motion camera, instead they slowed down 60fps material 10 times with software, dont remember when i was this disappointed with movie...
