So, I just finished D1. Couple weeks ago and finally finished D2 today.
Pretty great games to play back-to-back.

The Dishonored 1 DLC is well worth playing as it puts you in a different perspective from Corvo's.

Did a replay on the back of a recent Deathloop playthrough and I must say this game is class above Deathloop. Rushed it a bit with Emily on high chaos in 6.5h. Previously I took a slow approach with Corvo at low chaos.
The art style is more cohesive, you have a lot more actual freedom to operate within the levels that are actually designed to accomodate them.
I forgot about the time travel section, which I found really creative.

It's a full stealth Emily playthrough, exploring every nook and cranny. And yeah, level design really excels (as is the usual with Arkane), especially that clockwork mansion and Stilton's manor
Also, thanks for the comparison with Deathloop, at least I won't be disappointed when playing that game some time after this one |
Deathloop wasn't bad, but felt gimped. The aesthetics were sorta interesting, but the wacky surreal art style and map design brought it down in my eyes. I mean it did have a lot of the classic Arkane but in a... pandemic version so to speak.
I'll do a playthrough of Prey now.

As goes for Deathloop it's a nice game but made by Arkane B team and in the end it shows. Still IMO good game if you doesn't hype about it. | Wasn't impressed by Death of the Outsider that much, and had some high expectations for it after D2. And as 4treyu said, thanks for the comparisons with Deathloop. Well, in my case thanks also for reminding me that it existed, as I had mostly forgotten about it

Well, finally finished my Emily playthrough (no detections, no kills). It took me quite a few months as I was just able to play for very short sessions. Also, didn't help that I found the story to be extremely boring, and only the excellent level design and solid gameplay kept me interested in progressing.
Maybe I'll give Death of the Outsider a try in the future or even a Corvo playthrough to re-experience the best levels of the game like the mansion and the manor.

Yeah, except many games assume you just blast through them in two sittings, and even if you pause for a week, you feel totally disconnected with the world and the character.
We really need this

You know... these smart-ass AAA developers might be on to something.
They don't make games (like they used to) that require you to connect, live in, digest (slowly) stories, events, facts.
Everything is like a one-night stand: bang-bang, 5 minutes and you're done. Quick in - quick out...
• quest arrows (you are anyway too tired to remember where to go from last gaming session 2 weeks ago)
• no more deep stories (so you don't have to remember rich narratives at your old age, mortgage is more important!)
• you can play 15-30 minutes and have fun (discover some collectibles, play a round of... something and off to bed)
• shallow characters (so you don't increase expectations on day to day reality and work colleagues)
• quick-time events & games that play themselves (your CS AWP boom-headshot reflexes are gone and your hands are shaking from too much... from too much.)
• ugly females (so that you'd still think your wife is prettier)
• gamepad controls on PC (you are fat, need a couch and pad buttons can slow down the game for your arthritis)
See?!
In the end, it was all for our best interests.

As much as I would like Dishonored 3, I think I’d prefer Prey 2.
It will probably be a Deathloop sequel lol.
May the NFOrce be with you always.

Either of those 3 is fine with me tbh
...which of course means Redfall 2 is more likely

I'm guessing sequel to whatever has sold best, instead of risking making a good game / immersive sim.
