yeah I thought this was a great movie

Matrix Resurrections 6/10

After all the hate it's gotten, here and there and everywhere (I'm still in Beatles-mode Very Happy ) I was expecting the worst atrocity in years Laughing
But I found the main story and general idea behind the movie surprisingly 'solid'. There's lots of stupid scenes, yes, and it could have been a lot shorter, yes. And I could have lived without the flashbacks/memberberries of previous movies playing in the background.
But frankly, I don't think it's a worse movie than the 3rd one.

Don't Look Up - 8/10

Great cast. Some sequences are a bit weird, like the scenes getting cut off to quickly.

Matrix: 3/10: Just bad.Not worth explanation

Reno Q: 5/10: Better, but just too dumb even for me

Red Rocket: 7/10: Now, this was much better..Lots of fooking, no special effects to ruin it, just plain old story telling.

Don't Look Up 8/10

Very good, the ensemble cast is hilarious at times, esp. Jonah Hill.
The ending is pretty sad because we all know it's where we're headed. Made me think about what is needed to make everyone finally see the "comet", in the form of climate change (and how far that moment is ahead of us).

The Hand of God - 7/10

A fascinating movie in many ways thanks to the bizarre characters and personal style, though it's perhaps a bit too disjointed and pretentious for its own good. The result is interesting nonetheless, if only for the solid acting and camera work. It's like watching the wacky Napolitan version of The Great Beauty where the city and the subject of football go hand in hand (huehue) while serving as the background of the director's bittersweet pseudo-autobiographical story.

“Un homme en colère” (🤦‍♂️)—7/10
Reminded me of old-time revenge flicks from the 80s/90s.

Apparently, there won’t be an English (US or UK), so we’re left with either a Retardrench or DAAAAAS Nazieutsch Blu-ray’s with fucking gibberish intertitles. Dumbfucks can’t read English, I guess.

Power of the dog - 8/10
It's a slow burn but stay with it.

The comeback trail - meh/10
There should be an award for most decepive trailer. It lacked wit that was necessary for the movie they were aiming to do.

Riders of Justice - 7/10

A dark comedy with good old Mads in extra-badass mode and three goofy misfits who go on a revenge mission, not the most memorable story but all the awkward dynamics between the characters along with the moments of random violence are enough to sustain the movie. It's charming in its own surreal and deranged way.

The Two Popes - 7,5/10

When you have Anthony Hopkins and Jonathan Pryce showcasing all their acting chops in sync, even a movie about the bloody Vatican suddenly becomes a captivating one. The tone is pleasant as well, and especially how the two different personalities (and views) interact with each other, which leads to some hilarious moments and to an oddly wholesome atmosphere. "Gracias señor por el talento del Pipita" - famous last words xD

Ghstbusters: Afterlife - 4/10

Boring movie, without much going on for 3/4 of the movie and then just concetrated plot of the first. With the kids being 1 to 1 copies of the old crew and with mandatory jail scene. It's 150% nostalgia driven.

Deepwater Horizon. 7.5/10. Would probably be a 6.5/10 if it wasn't for the great sound this has with Dolby Atmos (+ watched with projector, this always adds to the experience when it comes to these types of movies)

Wolfhound 2006: https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0416316/

8/10 - seemingly unknown russian fantasy movie (Conanski) that was pretty damn good especially for 2006. Based off a series of novels Volkodav? Highly suspect the Witcher author ripped off these novels, the character is so similar. Laughing

Geralt might be based on a few characters. Moorcock even sued Sapkowski for similarities between Elric and Geralt. Some say he stole some things from Robert E. Howard's characters, especially Solomon Kane and so on. Probably he get inspired from this too.
But overall it's rather inspiration than full on plagarism.

Sure, well these novels are fantasy based on Slavic culture, the guy fights monsters, he uses a sword and magic dust to cast Aard and Iignii. He has a bat familiar, bangs the princess, and saves the day 8/10.
