Amazon has given a series order to Jack Reacher, a drama based on the best-selling series of novels by Lee Child. The show will air on the tech giant's Prime Video streaming platform, with a premiere date yet to be determined. The first season will be based on the inaugural Reacher novel, The Killing Floor.
The project grew out of a script-to-series deal, with Scorpion creator Nick Santora adapting Child's book series about a military veteran who lives a nomadic life as a freelance investigator and problem solver. The show could be a big franchise for Amazon: Child has written more than 20 novels featuring the character, which have collectively sold more than 100 million copies and have been translated in 49 languages.
The books were the basis for two movies starring Tom Cruise as the title character, 2012's Jack Reacher and 2016's Jack Reacher: Never Go Back.
The series promises to boast a star who will be a much closer approximation of the book character – tall, blond and built like a tank – than “Jack Reacher” film star Tom Cruise was.

Amazon Studios, Skydance TV and Paramount TV Studios have found their Jack Reacher. Alan Ritchson (Titans) has been tapped for the title role in Jack Reacher, the streamer’s drama series based on the character from Lee Child’s international bestselling series of books.

I'm on ep4 and while it was going ok so far, they just introduce "diversified" Neagley and have her acting and speaking like a retarded teenager.
Great

It's a solid 6/10.
Actors are mostly good, story is at times dumb as fuck, but so was the book so follows it's spirit, i guess.
Reacher biggest problems is the fact that he's practily superman with a sherlock holmes brain, it's a boring premise for a hero.
Got hit about 15 times with a crowbar and the only damage was a cut to his forearm
I never read the books so the Tom Cruise version was not a big deal for me if it was not character accurate but show was fine for a binge watch as it will be something I will forget about now till the new season next year. It does seem like a decent formula though like Bosch where they do have a lot of stories to adapt so I could see this going for a for a few more seasons.
It was kind of funny seeing the mini Smallville reunion with Reacher and the mom some 15 years after them playing Aquaman and Lana Lang on that show.
Finished it.
It was decent enough but some of the dialogue between characters was horrible, and diversified neagley was haram, especially with some of her quirky teen behavior.
6/10

Just one-eye-watched the first Jack Reacher with Cruse and my friends, this series in comparison is screenwriting masterpiece with great characters.
