i'd say the only thing that seems responsive is the stick itself, everything else has lag.. in a game with high difficulty that should be a priority to get right.
and sure, most people might not notice 100 or even 200 ms lag, they wiill just think it's on their end.. i do notice this easily because i make music and it's an issue we often can have, i can notice as little as 50ms from pressing the key or pad to hearing the sound. |
Sounds like my experience with Bloodborne. Assumed it's because of the terrible framerate, cause DS games on PC all felt better.
Maybe you guys are now so used to higher refresh rates that 60 fps feels like shit? Or did you unlock framerate and still experience this "input delay"? Cause last year I played Nioh 2 @120 fps and then went back to Dark Souls 3@60fps straight after, and yea.. it didn't feel as good as the first time I played it.

I find the delay thing pretty terrible. Its just makes the game more artificial than it has to be. But you're right about it being there for a reaoson or people wouldnt have a challenge.. Sadly as i said it's artificial as fuck.

Fuuu! I thought this is some another Skyrim/LOTR sequel but damn this is new 'Souls' game.
Definitely gonna try it out sometimes in the future when the price is -70% off and majority of annoying bugs are fixed.

Isn't that "delay" like the main thing about all Dark Souls games? I installed DS1 just to compare and seems the same to me. And thinking about it, it's not really lag or delay but the way it's supposed to be. Rolling doesn't cancel the combat animations. So you have to learn every weapon's specific animations and enemy attacks to time properly when you can use hard or fast hits. It's frustrating but if rolling canceled animations it would be Devil May Cry and not a "Dark Souls" game.

There's more than just that. The game is not responsive in a lot of situations.

Is this game easier than earlier fromsoft games? Only played Ds1 and sekiro, gave up both after a couple of hours( ds1 mainly because of the horrible m/kb controls).
Sekiro i gave up in frustration after getting killed 20 times by the 1'st boss.
Lvl 30 and having alot of fun here. Maybe because of the open world and lvl'ing up before facing bosses?

Pretty sure it is yes. You get spoiled from playing other games which obviously are more responsive (as in you can press a button and you get an instant response).
I guess it depends on what you prefer, some people obviously prefers this type of combat, otherwise the series would not be popular. And from what i remember (DS1) i really liked its combat when i got into it...

There is a mod to pause the game:
https://www.nexusmods.com/eldenring/mods/43
Now all I need is a mod to auto-pickup the fucking materials.

sekiro is different, sekiro was made to be brutally hard. sekiro bosses will whoop your ass to oblivion until you fully understand how the deflect system functions and then you will finally begin to progress...

guise need halp!
my DS4 controller decided to develop a sporadic albeit serious drift to the left, making it infuriating to play this /or anything for that matter
it's really subtle like sometimes when you tip the right analogue stick slightly to the left it will continue spinning the camera in that direction
any ideas apart from taking the thing apart or throwing it out?
using ds4windows can i somehow decrease the sensitivity of the analogue stick so that it won't register such slight input?

While I didn't understand the post in the other thread initially, I do now and this info should help you.

I don't think they gave enemies longer charge ups to make it easier. They did it to make it harder.
It certainly feels like bosses are able to vary the length of time before it throws an attack, so the rhythm can throw you off at times.

Anyone got special K working in the yaar version ?
Did all the steps required. Special K is running global and I can start the game fine with it but I can't trigger the overlay at all.
Tried the local service also copying the specialk64.dll into the folder and renamed it dxgi.dll
Same results.
Anyone have this issue and resolved it ?
Blocked both exe's inbound and outbound in firewall and even changed eldenring.exe to start_protected_game.exe
Also tried with and without Afrerburner, RTSS, reshade and flawless widescreen (which all work together no issues)
Thanks
