it takes a little to get into what is happening, when they do back and forth sometimes is confusing . once you get the hang of it its pretty good so far
Yes, they need to convey a lot of information from several different time periods, and there is no other way to do it, other than dedicate an entire episode to each time period, but this way is a lot more effective, and also doesn't require filling an entire episode to Wayne Jenkins' first year, or to the exploits of the GTTF in several time periods.
Lol. I consider any professional writer who posts ok twitter in their spare time also doing their work. Is all. Just like any video editor who does YouTube videos is still doing work even if it's in windows movie maker.
And I know it's based on real events. Usually his work is rooted in reality. It's just punisher looks derpy. That's it. That's my only issue with it. Many good shows I ignored at first cause a character looked derpy and I couldn't take it seriously.
I liked it, but it misses its social commentary purposes.
It's a show about corrupt cops, but they made 'm so likeable.
I don't really feel empathy for the downside of it all, ie police brutality against citizens
I finally did my overtime with the midget and bingewatched the season, it was as good as it could possibly be given the limited nature and format. There's the autenthicity of the narrative that is expected from Simon, the direct tone without exposition, just the all-around genuine version of a sad modern story and an outlook on US of A's police work with all its typical extra-slimy habits that make even Vic Mackey look like a honourable cop.
It was never going to rival the big dawgs of course, but it is quality television and the acting is solid from everyone - especially Bernthal. He's off the chain!

And of course, it ends with “dope on the table” speech, where everyone cheers. Anyone familiar with The Wire knows the significance of this.
Indeed..The Wire is still relatively fresh in my mind but after this mini-series, I already feel the urge to rewatch it. One of the many perks of being the best TV show ever made.
