Obi-Wan Kenobi Ending Leak Could Point to More Woke Star Wars
It would be glorious for Lucasfilm and Disney to realize they can make non-white and non-male characters that are awesome in their own right… without denigrating established heroes. Unfortunately, it appears we’re not done with the modern trope just yet.
For the past months there have been rumors about Obi-Wan Kenobi leaks regarding the ending of the series, as well as post-credit scenes. We have been hesitant to publish anything regarding these purported leaks because first: the series has been in post-production and things could change from leak to release, and second: after The Book of Boba Fett had its ending changed even once the series started releasing, leadership at That Park Place hasn’t been keen to be burned again.
Things are beginning to heat up, however, and Obi-Wan is just weeks away from release. When it appears the ending may have been completely leaked, it’s hard not to cover it when part of what we do is cover rumors. I guess I say all that to just implore our readers to temper their expectations. Could this be a legitimate leak? Yes. Could there be an intentionally leaked false ending to throw fans off? Sure. Could there be three different endings and we don’t know which one they’ve picked? You bet. So let’s just enjoy this potential leak for what it is: a rumor.
Before going any further, you’re obviously entering into spoiler territory.
Essentially, if the leaks turn out to be true, Star Wars will be retconned so that Obi-Wan Kenobi failed to protect Luke Skywalker… and in fact an inquisitor had the opportunity to kill him as a boy. However, out of goodness in her heart, she overcomes the desire to kill him and instead sacrifices her own life by being killed by Darth Vader himself. In that regard, Obi-Wan Kenobi will be made a failure twice-over: he will have now failed to save Anakin from becoming Vader AND failed to actually protect Luke from the Empire. Only by luck and the good-hearted nature of an inquisitor will Luke be spared. A woman of color will have filled in for an incompetent Kenobi and then given her life to the rage of a white man behind a mask. I wish that’s not how these Hollywood writers see the world, but I am continuously disappointed to see us return to tribalism and segregating narratives.
Here’s Drunk 3PO with the details:
For those who feel there is a misandric attack on Star Wars in which men are made inept and women are made the real heroes, and that this pattern repeats over and over, this will be another difficult story. For those who feel that Star Wars is a vehicle for social change, perhaps they will further enjoy the story. And for all the “normies” out there, I guess we’ll just have to wait and find out.
As for me, I believe that this is a make-or-break for Star Wars in terms of people caring. If they screw this up, I think they’ve reached the point where the brand will need a decade to recover. What a time to be alive and watch a company walk a giant property to the edge of the cliff while cultural ideologues chant “too big to fail” and “cry more.”
Shame on Bob Chapek for not dropping Kathleen Kennedy when he had the chance. He may have wanted to moderate the company but his weakness has resulted in his downfall and the potential downfall of Star Wars.
For all the latest news that should be fun, keep reading That Park Place! As always, drop us a comment down below. We truly do care about the thoughts of our readers and they guide us in what we cover.

Agreed. I was talking to a friend of mine about this and we both came up with the same observation that Kenobi wasn't ever really portrayed as a bad-ass anyway, just very dedicated to his role. Sure he had some moments in the prequel trilogy, but I never saw him as a "master" of his craft.
If there's more lore behind his character via books, I'll admit I am not familiar with them so I am basing my experience off of the movies only.

you don't need to read the books if you're not into that, there's a whole TV series about Kenobi already (and by George Lucas and not some clueless hack) and for the most part he's a total bad ass.. clone wars is way better than any of the recent star wars series or movies.
I'm always surprised when i read star wars threads and people are into the new stuff but still haven't seen clone wars sure it's computer animated but it doesn't take away from the story, it has really great performances (voice acting) too.
It's something i intended to rewatch, can't say the same for Mandalorian or Book of Boba Fett, and i've not rewatched a single new movie either.
Totally agree, Clone Wars is the best SW content we've had for decades, and it's not even remotely close Mandalorian and so on were fiiiine, but it's nothing like it. I guess not many did expect something as good as Clone Wars, being a cartoon and everything.
Some people do have issues with its style though, which is mostly understandable (it did require some getting used to for me, and the earlier seasons have poorly aged visually-wise), but damn, get over it and enjoy the amazing story lines

First minutes of member berries.
Interesting characters.
Stopped watching when knife was thrown and a Jedi was chased.
So first 5 minutes 7/10.
Memberberries get 4/10.
I did like the first episode very much, I felt the characters believable, with gravitas, entertaining. Mind you, I'm no fan of the latest Star Wars (at all). And I enjoyed the music greatly, echoes of Thomas Newman, James Newton Howard... kudos to Natalie Holt!
Second episode was way worse, your typical on the rails Disney+ action episode. Will keep watching for now.
The writing is atrocious. Disney ruined SW beyond repair. There is no coming back, sorry.
The writing is cringe, it is so bad. Soap opera again. This is in the vein of the sequels and NOT the prequels. If you go in as an adult, with adult intellectual needs, then you will be disappointed.
Is it better than Mando and Book of Who The Fuck Cares? Yes. Is it good? No.
10 year old Leia is absurdly badly written. It is truly, really bad. And everyone makes stupid, irrational decisions. Teen drama level.
Fuck Disney. Fuck the woke mob. And fuck the imbeciles this is written for.
Also the "AnGrY bLaCk WhAmEn" character. Actress is very bad. The only thing she does is be angry and shout. She has a legit chance to catch Obi-Wan. Does she take it? Of course not. She instead kills her boss. Because why not? And then she shouts at a departing ship like a fucking teen.

Watched the rest. 6/10
Episode 2? 4/10
It's getting worse. Much much worse.
3 grown ass people can't catch a 10 year old.
Threatening Luke's uncle even though we know he dies when luke is ready and older.
Jedi forgets how to use force even though he's there to protect.
Forgets his training. Forgets everything. And somehow has to protect young luke and if luke is force sensitive hes gonna train him. And yet he struggles to use force. :/ Lol.
And the black Jedi woman is a walking talking stereotype of an angry black woman from all skits ranging from SNL to madtv even in living colour. Just bad and oddly racist. She even talks like she's from the streets of Brooklyn. Like you're in space woman, you ain't a minority, why you acting like you got shit to prove?! Ugh.
If they've seen more than 2 EPs. It could pick up.
Right now the show isn't for me.
They could have just done star wars: raising hope.
Centered around the kids living seperate lives but deep down knowing they belong elsewhere.
And have it age appropriate. Rated g until they're 13. Then pg13. Then on the 10th season soft r, and lead into events of first star wars movie. :/
This just makes Obi Wan a useless cuck.
Be the man you once were. Bruh it was 10 years and he lost it all didn't keep up with training. Even knows there are inquisitors and constant dangers. Lol.
They really didn't know where to go with any of this. They're making it seem like Vader already knows who his kids are. Lol.
next time hire a kid that actually knows how to run ... this little girl wobbling about was the most pathethic thing ive seen in ages like she never been in a forest in her life, they even needed a stunt double to climb that tiny ass tree zzzzz . god not sure i can stand more scenes with that little useles kiddo
