They probably thought that you're too young to have a colon cancer. They recommend to have a first colonoscopy at age 50 but there are more and more cases where young people get it under 40. Anyways, any anal bleeding, long lasting constipation, long lasting bloody diarrhea, abdominal pain, loosing weight, anemia etc. should get immediate attention. I would demand at least rectoscopy cuz most nasty cancers are on the colon's left side. Colonoscopy is a golden standard. It's unpleasant but it saves lives. I also had a colonoscopy when I was 45 due to rectal bleeding ( blood on the stool). Fortunately it was hemorrhoids.
Speaking of which, my co-worker (37 years old ) had these bloody diarrheas which lasted at least two years. He was ashamed to see a doctor and when the pain got to the point he couldn't bear the pain anymore, he finally agreed with his doctor to do a colonoscopy. They found a nasty colon cancer and underwent an emergency surgery. The surgeon cut out 40cm of his colon ! With a course of chemotherapy he survived. So, my advice to you guys no matter if you're in your 30's, take serious any symptoms above and fuck the doctors who tells you that it is nothing to worry about. |
+1
When I was around 30 (I'm 36 now) I was having some symptoms. I had a colonoscopy and had some pre-cancerous polyps cut out. Now I have to go in every couple of years for more check ups.
Every time I see a new doctor, they'll typically say something like 'wow you're young to have that', as if they wouldn't have considered it. They also said if I were in the US they recommend a check every 5 - 10 years, which seems crazy to me. I'm still convinced it'll get me in the end, but at least I now know to keep an eye on it.

First round of chemo is complete.
Monday was overwhelming as fuck with all this being new. Labs, got a picc line installed, ran chemo. Had nurses and pharmacy and techs and shit constantly rotating in my room throwing info at me like jesus fucking christ guys like I'm going ot remember all this shit.
Sent me home with a little, at home balloon pump and got that and the picc line taken out today. They'll be doing an actual port next time so that'll stay in, did the picc line right away so they could start me on the meds and shit.
Weren't kidding about the nausea though, they got me on some pretty heavy anti nausea meds but I can still feel it trying to push through, swear I'm going to lose a shit ton of weight from now wanting to eat.
I dunno if it's kicked in right away and shrunk the tumor already but the pain has subsided considerably already. I was taking hydrocodones every 4 hours on the dot for a week, last one I took was during my chemo on Monday at 2pm. Haven't had any pain really since. So... fucking
So every other monday-wednesday with this shit for the next 6 months.....yay

Nah and I wouldn't smoke it if I could. Smell gets to me really bad. I had gotten some shit YEARS ago that was laced with PCP and had the worst trip I could have thought of. I can do edibles though but i really need to figure out that just because they're small, doesn't mean they can't pack a wallop lol.

Good to hear, hoping for the best. You can beat this shit.
Also, if it's legal in your state, can also try Kratom for pain relief, which my aunt was on when she did her chemo. It's like an alternative to opioids, but it's very difficult to OD on.
Still addictive though.

I posted this in case they might run another clinical trial.
Also I recently read that Mark Cuban opened a platform, guess you can call it that, in which you can get various medicine/treatments for a much lower price. Not sure if he will be able to add these types of expensive therapies but we will see. Maybe this needs a new topic. Anyways, still wish and hope for the best dude! Keep strong!

I only tried it twice and got a decent effect but did not like it at all..no sir!
Either it hits me different, or I just cannot grasp what people like about feeling that way.
It made me slightly dumber/duller feeling. Like remembering what I was thinking about took effort, or having to concentrate to stay following a line of thought very long if it was even the slightest complexity of one.
And I also found the most mundane things vaguely interesting: Like playing with the window blinds control to be perplexed how the one cord BOTH moved it up and down and also adjusted their angle. (something that would have taken a few minutes at most to work out if I wasnt stoned).
Also made me lethargic, and made me think I was hungry for something to eat.
I can just stay up 3 days with no sleep and not eating, and feel exactly the same way for free if I really wanted those sensations. |
Hehe, I guess it's a matter of perspective. I toke/imbibe very rarely but when I do I enjoy being so relaxed and slightly "out" of it. And I don't have to stay awake for 3 days with no sleep or food. Taking the time to prepare makes a big difference: line up some comedies to watch, get some snacks and stuff ready and just sitting/laying down on the couch or in a comfy armchair is really enjoyable and relaxing (the latter being the most important thing for me).
But each to his own.
ps. There are different strains of weed that affect you differently. Strains with a high thc content are called sativa and cause the "high" as in thinking and feeling different, feeling more excited (more up) temporary gold-fish memory etc. while there are strains with low thc content while high in cbd content that are called indica which is mainly affecting your body: it lowers blood pressure, relaxes your body, help against pain and against anxiety, helps you fall asleep and get better sleep, all this without messing with your head. Finally there are hybrid strains that have varied levels of both thc and cbd that give you variable amount of the effects.

I rarely browse this sub-forum so I just learned about this after seeing SpykeZ's comment about being on chemo in the TMNT game discussion.
@SpykeZ you're a Humper (and a distinguished one at that), you're going to beat this!
My personal 2 cents, even if it's hard, don't neglect eating!
Keep us posted.
