https://deadline.com/2022/05/sylvester-stallone-tulsa-king-paramount-premiere-date-paramount-plus-yellowstone-1235027354/

Quote:
Hailing from Taylor Sheridan and Terence Winter, Tulsa King follows New York mafia capo Dwight “The General” Manfredi (Stallone), who, as he’s released from prison after 25 years, is unceremoniously exiled by his boss to set up shop in Tulsa, OK. Realizing that his mob family might not have his best interests in mind, Dwight slowly builds a “crew” from a group of unlikely characters to help him establish a new criminal empire in a place that to him might as well be another planet.

Of all the action stars, Stallone's shape is the best. Arnold looks very old now, Van Damme has had the used-to-be-drugged-up-and-i-still-yearn-for-coke for at least 15 years now. Stallone still looks presentable. Somehow, his face is even less crooked than it used to be in the 80s/90s—not sure if he did some work on it. Laughing

Nice, this is coming next week, with the new season of Yellowstone on its heels a few days later.

Looks like Sheridan is going for a bit lighter tone this time around. We'll see how that pans out.

Watched 1x01 yesterday, and it's nothing special. It's a bit too loaded with general tropes/clichés and predictable situations/dialogues for my taste, but it might end up something better.

Not one I'll be counting the days for the release of each episode, though.

It was alright I think, the dialog was a bit of how can we roll in as many quotes as possible, but Stallone and Jay were a decent combo. Let's see a few more eps Smile

Episode 2 was a bit better than the first one, but it's still only alright overall. Okayish entertainment for the 30+ minutes it lasts, but nothing memorable so far, really.

I also think it's great. I liken it to Dexter. It's never going to be Breaking Bad, but it's got that whole comic chill vibe; and the story could go places. I like it a lot!

yeah no way they stopped, helps with looking young, and staying fit obviously. many, many male actors use it i would think. i'd absolutely use it too if i had the money and resources.

saw a clip where Stallone pisses on the pronounce-crap, need to watch it i guess
Very Happy

The giving-the-dog-a-name scene was actually funny. Smile

Other than that, the show's still mediocre. Not too bad per se, but I'd expect way more form Sheridan.

I don't think it's comparable to Fargo, it's a rather different beast. It's more Magic City, although the era is quite different Smile
