I appreciate what they do, the headfuck timing is impressive (like meshuggah). I just can't listen to it beyond 10 or more minutes, it gets boring to me. That tone and style has become very popular lately, I'll post some stuff in one of the music threads.
In nu-dooms case, at least it wasn't rap or dubstep
Their music doesn't do anything for me. Sure, they're ridiculously skilled and play insane stuff with ridiculous time signature changes (Thomas Haake is a machine).. Ultimately it's just meh to my ears though. I love when those elements are used in a different style though (Opeth etc.).
I'm not into that 7-string dropped tuning with that djentish sound at all. The second is perfect thrash metal DOOM.
I've never dropped below D (from E) when playing/rehearsing/writing. The bass is supposed to do the low end.

The music I dont mind so much (it is a bit the djent version of techno music vibe: find a few 4/4 hooks, repeat the shit out of them randomly), but why is there a wednesday day shift stripper wiggling around not even in rhythm to the beat in this DOOM song I am watching?
