Based on the bestselling novel by Thomas Perry, “The Old Man” centers on Dan Chase who absconded from the CIA decades ago and has been living off the grid since. When an assassin arrives and tries to take Chase out, the old operative learns that to ensure his future he now must reconcile his past. With Dan Chase flushed out of hiding, the FBI’s Assistant Director for Counterintelligence Harold Harper is called on to hunt him down because of his complicated past with the rogue fugitive. Can’t wait to watch a 3 second scene, consisted of 70 different cuts and shaky cam, of Bridges jumping over a fence and nearly breaking his leg in three different spots.
I thought it was alright he's not a superhero, glad they made a point of that. I'm hoping this is more slow burn bouncing between old and young Lithgow/Bridges, will give it a few more eps.
A bit of trivia: Bridges, at 72, almost made all the stunt work himself after getting lymphoma + 6 week Covid. He has a stuntman for some bits of his fighting scenes indeed, but they are few and far between. Gotta love the old man.
I thought the exact opposite if I'm honest. Drifted off on the first episode here and there and watched the second a few hours later. Honestly I was bored... Hoping for me it picks up.
