I'm not too fond of Marvel IPs myself but I feel different about this game, for me it's better than the movies (1st was ok, 2nd meh), sure the juvenile sense of humor is still here but somehow instead of cringing I'm grinning while playing this becuase it clicks with the whole package. If you're not treating yourself too seriously you should be ok.

Seems that Eidos Montreal lost their lead writer to Bioware, after 14 years with them.
Looking through her credentials, she wrote Myst 3 and 4 at Ubisoft, Homeworld 2 at Relic, Human Revolution, Mankind Divided and Guardians at Eidos.

So the new low budget Deus Ex that the cheapskate Embracer will do will not have the person who lead the story and its dialogues.

Yeah, that's a shame. I can't comment on this game because it's not my cup of tea but she definitely is good at her job, and competent writing is a rare asset in the gaming industry these days. Since it's safe to say that Jensen's story sadly will never be properly finished, it won't be easy to find a suitable replacement that re-reboots the DX franchise without modern cringeworthy additions and colourful quirky(tm) Gen Z influences.
Or they could just follow the trend and do a remake of the original game, which means heavily streamlining its mechanics in the process, changing things that don't need to be altered and cutting down the political-related dialogues as well as the insensitive ones, thus leaving us with a Gunther Ex instead   |

ohohoho a game as politically spicy as the OG Deus ex could in no way be remade today exactly as it was. I think it would be best if they let it be instead of tarnishing a true god's name.
No one wants an action button transexual JC adventure. God I miss how ballsy game creatives used to be back when they were trying to be a new unhinged medium instead of worrying about ESG ratings.

finished this one, gave it another shot after i abandoned it way back because of the boring combat. tried increasing the damage you do to very high so it dosent feel spongy and was better, combat is not that frequent so its ok.
fantastic game, its mostly an uncharted game type, very heavy on story and characters, big set pieces, gorgeous graphics, great score, serviceable combat. felt like i watched a full season of a show.
I can see your soul at the edges of your eyes..
