frigging 20 player multiplayer, if the next elder scrolls is single player only and has no coop, im skipping it, frigging modders doing all the hard work here
That's according to VentureBeat's Jeff Grubb who, speaking in the latest episode of his Giantbomb show Grubbsnax (as spotted and transcribed by VGC), revealed, "This is very early, but people have begun to have talks and say these words in sentences, and these words are 'Obsidian' and 'New Vegas 2'". Grubb added, "A lot of people at Microsoft think that this could work and there's a lot of interest to make it happen."
New Vegas fans might, however, want to rein their excitement in just a little. Grubb noted that any such project would be "years and years away [but] there's at least an interest and conversations happening about making something like that actually a reality."
After the outer worlds, no thanks
However, if it was with inxile at the wheel instead...

A few years back I would have been really happy to see a continuation of New Vegas' story made by Obsidian that explores one of the aftermaths of the battle for Hoover Dam, but in this day and age? Not so much, sadly.
The industry has changed, the genuine talents and competent writers/designers responsible for the original (excellent) game are no longer there either, and the replacements are of course the byproducts of currentyear's gaming, with all that it entails. I'd still be curious, but my expectations would be set lower than Fisto's drilling module.
Marketing wise, a 'New Vegas 2' title would draw MUCH more attention (and trust / money / preorders) than another (new, unheard of, unfamiliar) title name.
It's a Wabbajack mod, one click install and it does all the things. The only thing you need to run is the 4GB patcher on the exe.
It's very good. It's easier than I remember (overall, 1-shotting the creatures in Vault 22 doesn't feel right!) but those mods make it work well on modern machines. Anyway, I haven't played it in years and the thing that stands out for me after all of this time is the dialogue and stories. It feels like it was written for adults, not like the absolute shitty writing in FO4

Well well well I remember *SOMEONE* saying (well, writing) that after FO4 they couldn't go back to the FONV/FO3 clunkyness
Too bad that modern obsidian is nowhere close to 2010 obsidian, at least using the outer worlds and the teaser for the sequel as references ("wow we're so funneh lul").

Veronica is a great follower by the way, I doubt we'll see dialogue like that again in a Bethesda game. Eg: joking about doing sexual favours to rise through the ranks, or killing a bunch of brotherhood soldiers then saying 'oh well, no witnesses'
I couldn't name a single FO4 follower that I give a shit about. FO3 also had better writing and companions
Mens, I'm SOL with New Vegas. Game is patiently patched and modded through the VivaNewVegas page and it worked purrty fine UNTIL 51 hours in (level 43). My companions (Boone and ED-E) started shooting everyone once I step into The Strip to go to talk to Crocker at the embassy to keep doing the ending NCR path (just did the Boomers quest).
Weirdly enough when I reload an older save (45 hours in) companions behave the same, I even tried to dismiss them and go with Veronica, Raul or Cass. If I enter the gate alone, same. They attack me. No difference. No faction-related equipment, neutral or idolized with every faction except Legion and Powder Gangers.
Mods checked yesterday, manually updated. Shit, I feel bitter as fuck.
EDIT: solved by doing other quests before entering The Strip. It happens randomly.
How to ruin the game more like. Turn a natural performance into a monotone shitshow.
They should've ran the original voice files through an AI voice changer to maintain emotions instead of just copy & pasting text to elevenslab.
Not that I'd ever want that retard in my mojave desert.
I can directly tell Elevenlabs sucks in comparison to TortoiSE. Doesn't sound remotely like a real person.
Doing voices with TortoiSE is very slow even on a 3090 though, but it sounds as a good as e.g an audio book narrator. I could absolutely listen to an entire book with it, not a chance i would if it was done with Elevenlabs.
This one i did with Tortoise. much better flow in the voice
Holy shit, modding this game is a fucking mess.....
I stumbled across this site (https://www.pcgamesn.com/the-best-fallout-new-vegas-mods) over the weekend and decided to re-install my steam version of FO:NV and replay it with some mods....
First, it says to get the FOMM (Fallout mod manager) which allows you to choose and sort the mods and launch the game.
Then it recommends getting the Script extender, which also comes with an exe (nvse_loader.exe) to launch the game....
Then it recommends I get the 4GB fallout new vegas tool which.....comes with it's own launcher
I now have 3 executables and haven't even downloaded any real mods yet.....
Makes me feel like it's all going to be wonky if I don't launch the correct exe
And, fuck all that noise.... It's not that I'm intimidated with all the steps....it just screams "Semething is going to break and fuck up my save at some point"

Yeah, use Wabbajack. Modding the old games is frustrating as fuck otherwise.
I linked it above and it's very, very easy
Automated install of hundreds / thousands of mods. Sometimes there are manual steps, but it's all written out clearly and far easier than doing it from scratch
The last big modlists I made for both FO3 and FONV are probably the last I'll ever do, you spend days just incrementaly installing, ordering, managing and testing mods. But the portability of MO2 means that I can then just move that install around other machines and easily get that instance up and running.
Although in the future I'll go with either wabbajack or with
https://www.fallout4experiences.com/
for FO4.
