People bitching about other people beeing off topic, is just adding more off topic "garbage"...
(Aw, now you made me doo it too....)

Take it directly with the mods if you are so concerned. Smile

Looks like interesting technology, but an utterly boring game.

@vembi: I'm not bitching about people being off-topic. I'm only having a beef with a wanna-be moderator who just deletes important posts without thinking twice just because they're not only about the game, but rather technical. It's just very ironic then that the same "schmoderator" then completely ignores clearly off-topic stuff like what is going on here. Such people simply don't deserve their title and obviously can't handle the power entrusted in them.

Anyway, about the game as I don't want to post yet another off-topic message... Wink In the video, he's talking about other creatures coming from other users that you have downloaded to your computer. Does this mean the whole universe will be completely empty if you don't get online (for various reasons) and only your own creatures will wobble around? Now that does indeed sound rather boring, being "god" or not. :/

think it said player or computer created, the computer will create to balance up the food chain so your not always on the top.

EDIT : sorry looks like im wrong, i just checked some of the video again and during the show of the creature underwater he says that "they send you other players creatures to balance up the eco system" but i bet my ass that there will be some kinde of starting kit with a bunch of various creatures so you dont need a connection to play it.

Considering that the video was from March (?) last year, they might already had fixed the problem Wink

Will Wright had a special request to the dev team to make carebear, so I guess the bear's animation is suppose to look like that.

I watched his whole speech last year (was on the GDC site), and the cd comes with 10,000+ creatures already generated, so no probs there Wink

delayed

"In a conference call to discuss today's financial results, EA said that Will Wright's highly anticipated evolution sim, Spore, is no longer in the company's plans for the current fiscal year, which ends in March 2008. Most in the industry had expected the game to be released later this year, perhaps in time for the holiday shopping season."

Oh god... Not only did they announce the game with years left until its release (I have been watching it since god knows when), now that we were getting "closer" they delay it again?

First time Ive seen anything on this game. Just watched the 35 minute Google video. Ive never seen anything like it! Looks like the most ambitious game ever! I dread to think what the minimum system requirements are! Looks truly astounding though.

Well fuck that shit! Probably being overambitious which caused such a massive delay.
