Another console 'souls' game where you aren't allowed to change the attack in the direction of the camera.
Runs like an ass too.
Once it'll be out of EA will give it another shot. You know... just for the sake of my beloved Paris.

I like it so far. Though the movement can be clunky and the hitboxes are weird at times. Also, the grenades are way too overpowered.
I don't find the level design bad, it's actually above the average. The combat is nice, there's a decent variety of weapons and the progression is alright. I still don't know where the story is going, but I suspect some twists will be coming soon enough.
The performance is my biggest gripe. The textures sometimes look as if they are actually missing, yet the game runs like shit.

Will even copious patching actually sort out the performance issues on high end machines though?

These games with souls-like in the description, are they really that hard and tricky?
Im seeing more and more games that i want to play with this tacked on and it makes me avoid them as i dont like overly frustrating games/boss fights. Ive played all the Halos thought on legendary difficulty so dont mind a challange but abhore overly tricky boss fights and other encounters.
I recently played Kena: Bridge of Spirits which looked (and was) quite a cutesy and chilled game but it also had the souls-like description on Steam.

This game has assit mode(which makes the game easier but you cant get achievments) and it has grenades.
You can just farm grenades and spam the bosses with it which makes it a cakewalk.
So yeah it kinda depends on you how easy you want the game to be.
Spoiler: | Assist Mode allows the players to change a few settings that only affect the protagonist. So, it makes everything else including enemies in the surroundings remain constant as it was.
These settings include adjustments like:
Damage Reduction – This lets you reduce the incoming damage by a certain percentage.
Keep Anima Essence after Death – Anima Essence is the currency used in this game. However, when you die in the game, you lose all the Anima Essence. But it is possible to retrieve it back after respawning. As the name suggests, this setting allows you to keep all the Anima Essence even after dying in the game.
Endurance Regeneration Speed – This feature allows you to adjust the speed of gaining Endurance by a certain percentage. This helps to withstand hard-hitting strikes pretty easily.
Easy Cooling – It allows the player to gain Stamina quickly without waiting for a cooldown.

I've only played to the first main quest(find the labarotory), but Im already getting bored. The empty streets with encounters don't excite me, and the exploring haven't been particulary interesting either. Since combat is what i find least interesting in these games, and that seems to be all there is to do, i think im already getting to the uninstall stage. I'll give it 1 more session.

So , I gave it a couple of more tries, killed the first 4 titans, cleared 4 maps, then they gave me a bunch of quest that are straight up their old formula-running back an forth to the same damn visited places.
And with no map per area it's a fucking chore, nevermind having to fight through the same enemies all the time. The areas are all so boring I can rarely rember where to go, and with blocked paths all over te place the questmarker are useless.
I also had a sequence where i had to go between 6 or 7 npc's in a room talking and updating quest, and it was truly horrible. Back and forth for new info, and if they had given you a quest earlier they always defaulted to that instead of giving you the option to ask your question. So every character says something like: Havent you done that yet? go there and there and please hurry. And typically 3-4 responds you have to skip through.
So , uninstall for me.
And thats pretty typically with my spider games, when you get closer to the end you just get so fucking tired of the gameplay. I don't think i've finished a single of their games. This is the worst of their games, imo.
