According to Resetera VicIII Announcement got leaked on their dev forum just before todays PDX con
The screen caps are supposedly from different sources.
Haha yeah, the chances of it being a Paradud are high these days but..who knows. Imperator was far worse than I expected while CK3 was actually more decent than I was anticipating, it's like a coin toss at this point
After the latest update Imperator is apparently in a pretty good spot (haven't tried the latest patch myself). But yeah, they stopped development. CK3 was fine but I realized it wasn't my cup of tea after playing for a bit.
Stellaris is still my favorite of their games simply because of the setting. Followed by EU4. If they ever make an official fantasy grand strategy ala Stellaris, man I'd be so hooked.
Paradox has over the years developed a great engine that reached its peak with EU4 where all the info that you needed was readily available and accessable, whilst in this game, you've gotta jump through hoops and perform somersaults to get to know a certain thing.
Ever since CK3, they've completely shifted their focus to satiate a new wave of players that only consume reddit and youtube videos, far away from their core fanbase. As someone that has been playing their games since EU2, I feel absolutely no compulsion to play this game, whilst I was hoping that it was going to be a return to the roots, but alas.
I'm hoping that the modders can fix this, there's apparently a mod that makes the AI's economy actually competitive, but as a pirate, I'm way too lazy to actually try that mod, but it's "Anbeeld's Revision of AI".
tl;dr: this game's the product of a bunch of neckbeards that think they are enlightened by their intelligence by pushing in "anti-mask leagues" in the game (and yes, I know there was such things in the past). Oh, and it's completely railroaded to push you into the left, rather than the right side of politics.

This is accurate for the period cause it was a time of revolutions. You can go fascist if you like though. Playing the USA atm and it's more easy to keep slavery then to abolish it, it's not all on rails.
I was kinda surprised though that Russia is a base scenario in the egalitarion society gamemode, that's not right.
The game is average for a paradox release (played them all). Not good, not bad. It needs a lot of polish. People claiming Victoria 2 was better are wrong, that one was even in a poorer state then at release.
Combat is broken atm but I kinda like the idea. Combat in most of their games is about exploiting AI (for the most make AI starve to death) so I don't realy miss that. This feels more fair. But atm it's broken and all about exploiting AI.
It has to much micro and the interface isn't helping, that's an issue that is harder to fix.
