It's a shame, the show will never get the chance to elevate itself from being (yet) another wasted opportunity, a big mutant what if. I didn't dislike it for what it was, but it's evident that the further the story progressed, the more the writers felt the need to give it their own Netflixian spin, with all that it entails.
Chad Henry was the only thing that worked flawlessly in the show, so it's only fair to get rid of that nuisance and fully embrace the usual derpy and suicidal "we know better!" way. [Hmm]
And what is this petition gonna do? relieve cavil of his other contracts and return to the witcher? won't happen. Netflix was probably defending the writers through this fiasco and if that's the case then i hardly think he'll come waltzing back, even should the writers had been replaced by popular request from the community.
The show was ok, i think they leaned too far into Fantasy personally. Sure the games and books are fantasy, but i always thought it was more rooted in the characters than monster fighting and that's one of things i found appealing about it.
They also missed the chance to capitalize on slavic mythology, instead they focused on mages, spell castiing, battles and boring stuff.
It is kind of funny timing Cavill leaves the Witcher then they suddenly have the money for Sandman Season 2 announcement or maybe they think this will make people forget about Cavill leaving and have something new to talk about instead.
finally watched S2 last week and it was ok
quite a bit better than rings of power at least imo
not a fan of some of the decisions made and some characters are fucking annoying, but at least some shit is happening and when Geralt is on screen it's usually fun
couldn't tell you how I'd compare it to S1 though, I don't remember enough of that.
too bad Cavill is leaving, I would watch more of this but not sure if I will after he's replaced
Likot Mosuskekim, Woodcutter cancels Sleep: Interrupted by Elephant.
I mean it's no secret the dumb shit writers hated the books and the games and Henry constantly butted heads against him. Why the fuck hire writers who hate the source material.
Yes, let's make a show based on the original books but argue to change everything about it. Go fucking work on GoT if you want to release dog shit.
She sounds exactly like an american I dated a decade ago that gradually caught woketitis and got more insufferable as the condition gained ground.
Honestly good for Cavill to save his dignity and dip before he's wraped in yet another butchered IP.
There goes another promising series. And just in case, I wouldn't hold up much hope for the coming games or remake either.
Game will probably try to compromise and stay somewhere in the middle. Which is my guess. It is a polish studio afterall and their previous failure was not due to woke fucks not liking it or their outcries

If the game is made by their new ameriderp studios all hope is gone. If it's a kurwa studio effort, there's still some hope.
Ameriderp studios are supposedly behind the new cyberpunk game, so that's already doomed

They need to change the title of the show to Yennefer because seems like she got way more screen time. Could barely get through season one. Season 2 E1 was promising then it went back to its old form. Lost interest after that
"I've been on show - namely Witcher - where some of the writers were not or actively disliked the books and games (even actively mocking the source material)," DeMayo said in an interview back in October.
"It's a recipe for disaster and bad morale," he added. "Fandom as a litmus test checks egos, and makes all the long nights worth it. You have to respect the work before you're allowed to add to its legacy."
The Witcher season 3 wasn't written as a sendoff for actor Henry Cavill, who's been starring on the Netflix fantasy drama as supernaturally enhanced monster hunter Geralt of Rivia since its inception. But now that Cavill is officially stepping down from the role, which will be filled by Liam Hemsworth in season 4, series creator and showrunner Lauren Hissrich says season 3 feels like "the most heroic sendoff" for their lead they could muster.
New rumour going round that Henry Cavill was fired.
According to gossip account Deuxmoi, Cavill was actually fired from the Netflix show after repeatedly being cautioned about his "toxic, gamer-bro" like behaviour. It's said that Cavill grew increasingly difficult to work with, especially to female members of the crew. There were no complaints of a sexual nature, but his language was reportedly toxic and disrespectful all the same.
"Enlightenment is man's emergence from his self-imposed nonage. Nonage is the inability to use one's own understanding without another's guidance. This nonage is self-imposed if its cause lies not in lack of understanding but in indecision and lack of courage to use one's own mind without another's guidance. Dare to know! (Sapere aude.) "Have the courage to use your own understanding," is therefore the motto of the enlightenment."
He was likely the only one in there who cared about the character(s)/source material and dispensed good useful advice in order to avoid the Netfaux effect of mediocrity. A terrible case of mansplaining indeed, what a toxic turbonerd!
