So thanks to our friendly intern I checked for myself if it's really that bad and honestly I can't agree. Sure it's pale in comparison to Rocksteady's Arkham series but it's a decent game. Combat reminds me of Valhalla but to my surprise it feels a bit less floaty so it's serviceable. I was worried about the performance but it turns out to be running well on my 1070ti - 1080p highest preset and smooth 60 fps most of the time (some drops when using batcycle but still quite smooth), it seems the game is more of a cpu intensive side. The biggest gripe I have with the traversal system it's janky as hell and a worst part of the game, the rest is ok. IMHO well worth isodemoing

so let's assume having a fast travel mod and trainer to rid yourself of the grindiness... might this one be redeemable into a somewhat decent game?
Put in about 6 hours simply for morbid curiosity's sake.
When zoning out of the HQ tower, my game crashed. Every attempt to hit continue game afterwards led to an instant crash upon loading.
It looks like the game tries to Autosave when zoning, and if you crash during there's a good chance it'll corrupt your save. Since there's no manual save system, and there is only one save/profile slot, if this happens to you, all your progress is wiped out.
Oh well, I suppose it's for the best.
I can never be free, because the shackles I wear can't be touched or be seen.

is the isodemo playable or you need something extra from the "russian forum" or something?
if it has an easy/storymode, I'm interested to go through it.
There must have been a door there in the wall, when I came in.
Truly gone fishing.
The more I am reading about the game plot , the more I am convinced the game at least started out as continuation to Arkham Knight, even after the developers dropped it, it's fairly obvious it inspired by Arkham games and even the plot to a degree.
It's not only not focusing on Batman this time as a main character,
Spoiler:
It's lack of the Joker, and there is focus on Court of the owl, looks like an attempt to focus on characters that haven't appear in Arkham games.
Tough I guess they dropped the continuation part cuz they can have more free approach about the story and the gameplay changed (for the worse) for more RPG style approach.
tried it for a bit and its garbage, at least marvels avengers had well done cutscenes and voice acting and even gameplay had some nice combo moves but this has nothing, bad voice acting, bad world traversal and bad combat. and like wtf is it with the character movement
The more I play the more I want to replay Arkham City and Knight. This game is just a letdown even for someone going in with low expectations(as is often the case with modern gaming )
I'll see it through to the end since I'm already 6-7 hours in anyway, but it's a one and done for me.

Believable and relatable...Yep, sounds like Call of Duty
Yeah, I too feel like playing the Arkham games again now
I think this is definitely a sequel too, but they try to downplay it now; the batmobile in the introduction is the one from Arkham, and they even show the green riddler question marks in the background.
Playing the game on very easy seems the way to do it. I can't imagine having to repeatedly go through the same stuff, with this combat & these spongey enemies.
Game runs pretty bad too, for its last gen visuals, even with DLSS on. Having just completed Uncharted 4, with its amazing visuals from 2016, it's just unacceptable.

The poor controls and constant stutter really doesn't let you enjoy anything at all in this game. I don't quite know how does a company release a game in 2022 where mouse camera emulates sticks, but here we are. After reading the interview with God of War 18 where an original developer said he was playing the game with mouse and keyboard for two years and it became his favourite way to play the game, then it launches and it has negative acceleration, you can't be surprised anymore.
Well I finished it. Such a letdown. The second to last boss fight would have been amazing with a better combat system.
boss fight spoilers
Spoiler:
You go toe to toe with a resurrected, confused and angry Batman. This should have been a memorable fight but instead it's a tedious slug fest. Disappointing.

Good thing about this at least, after completing it, I replayed Arkham Asylum, and replaying City now.
Man, this game is still such a blast. Asylum was already a classic, but this is again such an enormous leap forward in size à nd quality. The special combat animations are so cool, especially the disarming ones and there are so many unique ones depending on the situation, I only saw once or twice. There's a cool one with cat woman when she jumps across the ledge of a rooftop, never managed to get it again
Funny little details too, like the 'toink' after Batman beats down Ra's and then bangs his head against the hilt of his own sword
