The game has aged very well both in terms of gameplay and visuals, so much that I don't really feel the need to play the Remake at the moment. I'll definitely give it a shot though once it'll be out on the high seas.
Pretty weird as they produce quite gory stuff themselves
From what I read, the difference is a lot of their gory stuff are from anime and what not where it's distinguishable between than and a game like this that looks realistic.
Still dumb.
And like most horror games, I expect this one to fall flat like most of them do, they spend too much time making the walls looks scary without putting in gameplay behind it.
So annoyed that e.g Elden Ring doesn't have any kind of limbs flying off, so fucking lame when you chop them with a gigantic sword and all they do is fall down, completely intact no one is saying anything about it either so likely they'll continue to do it like that since it's easier. It should have been standardized years ago, at least for any game that portrays itself as brutal or dark and for a mature audience.

I'm not so sure. If you look at anime you see many examples of anime teaching kids manners and stuff. Mostly male oriented anime. Female oriented shows seem to pass these checks even with male protagonists for some reason.
While that has nothing do do with gore, it seems anime can in some way be seen in Japan as just as serious as anything else and also shows Japan is quite the weird country
just noticed this is on unreal 4 i hope it wont be another one added to the list of shader comp stutter. It looks so high quality and polished in every video
To me, the problem with Dead Space was the player was so empowered there just wasn't any reason to be afraid. Any time a screeching monstrosity suddenly appeared my reaction was "yeah, come get some!" /dukevoice, as I proceeded to surgically chop them up. I still enjoyed the game but it just wasn't horror to me. Horror games that leave the player defenseless work the best imo.
It's impossible to know if it's something they planned all along and has worked on too, or if it's truly "fans has been asking for it, so we will work on it", which obviously sounds much better and it's the way you must do it. I can't say i've ever seen any fans asking for it, not that i've read every comment for everything they've done but...
Not good advertising these 13 death animations for the game and then saying "well, you won't get them until some dlc".
It is also very interesting how they arrived at 13 death animations when they haven't even started making them. I get the suspicion and i fall within those who call bullshit to that tweet. These animations are likely ready, or at least for the most part.
