I don't think they even know what they're upset about, it's just important for them to be constantly butthurt no mater what.

How else will they generate clicks if there's no conflict?

halfway in, i dont know how they expect to wow me when they know i already know the story, they freaking doing everything same ... zero suprizes

the sci fi is n gfx n setting is nice, but that invasion scene, total balony , needed to be wayyyy much longer, we have the friggin technology, show me a good sci fi battle goddamn

the way they got caught with their pants down wasnt even fun to watch, painfull , seeying these idiots run to these pathethic shoebox ships ...

and honestly the shield tech of the old movie looked way cooler and more effort then this one , as it was handdrawn i guess

underwhelmed, yes a few pretty pictures n settings but heck, they even gonna do two parts so it feels a bit of a scam, also these big names from mma and pussygrabber momoa are also complete waste of money, they add zero to the movie even detract from it having to make scenes for them to do their action shit

Blue means shield wasn't breached, red means it was, makes sense from a shield design perspective.

The shield bearer sees flashing red and knows the shield is being breached.

I didn't really care how the shield looked but a person need to be slow to penetrate it, and when they fought it was fuck all because otherwise it wouldn't be cool and hard to film. In the last fight Paul should've been slow in attack and fast in parry but that was unfilmable too so they changed it.

The other thing, I don't know how many of you watched in cinema but for me the CGI was ok at best and really looked like a cutscenes from some RTS like C&C or that Homeworld that took place on a desert planet Razz

If you watch the Gom Jabbar scene breakdown by Villneuve, you will see at the end he says that the target audience for this movie was himself - in a word, he did the movie for himself, not anyone else - so I doubt that anyone cares if the shields were misinterpreted, or someone felt that the invasion scene was rushed, or wever.

I really liked the casting, french guy is starting to grow, especially when playing troubled teenagers.

Jessica was very very good and Oscar is awesome, as per every movie.

I don't get the fuss around zendaya tho, need more of her acting in part 2.

Dune books are well known to be influenced by Islam(and basically all the other major religions), It's faithful to the books in that regard.

They are not necessary shade them in a positive light all the time.

If someone read it to the end (I had the same feeling as Il Padrino and also got bored half way first book) it really changes into criticism of fanaticism.

Well, I'm definitely going to read the books. Just completed Asimov's Foundation trilogy, and loved it Smile I know that Dune is heavily inspired by it, with the main twist that it turns the idea of the Mule upside down, so I'm very curious about that.

When you think about that, The first books were written before islamic revolution and long before the all Jihad crisis.

So while there is still criticism on Islam(and religion in general), it is probably milder than what would be probably if it was written in today standards.

No one would dare criticizing Islam specifically today in a big movie, but religion in general sure..

Heard he's filming Rendezvous with Rama, that will be interesting, just reread it for the 3rd time.

Be nice to watch them back to back.
I’ve only ever seen Part One once and at the cinema so I’ll definitely rewatch it before Part Two.
