Getting my C2 42" delivered on Friday!!! Party time!!!

NICE!
I would love to get one but I think it would be a downgrade from 48" c1. I am using it since march 2021 and it's fantastic fucking tv/monitor.

ONE THING regarding audio on you c2 too:
-Enable audio cinema mode
-Disable atmos and all ai crap in AI settings.
-Enable Bass Boos. It is confusingly under AI acusting tunning under AI service menu. you do no have to do tuning. Just enable bass boost.
-Throw away your speakers in the trash. it sounds so good for a tv.

One note to that - The tv will switch back to game optimizer audio every fucking time you restary your pc. So have a shortcut in the quick settings tab

I am considering to get LG G2 55 in black Friday Sales, for my bedroom, too bad there is no 48 model..

You may think, "why just don't go C2", well.. I love the thickness of the G2 and it well build for wallmounting.

I am getting my LG G2 wall mounted soon for my bedroom.

There were nice deals and I got 55 version.

I would have got 48 inch but sadly 55 inch is the minimum for G2 version.

Either you didnt have the presonus setup right, didn't have a balanced/matched sub for the lows the monitors cannot do or something.

Not being an audiophile snob here, but no way two TV Speakers sound as good as reference monitors, even cheap presonus ones.
Was you using near field monitors to try to do room filling sound? They are near field, they are designed to be 2-3 feet from you, drivers level with your ears, and directed at a point in space as 'best' position. They are not great for the same job as bookshelf speakers playing music/sound to a room for example.

Hi-end monitors are always more expensive than TV's.

Also it's not sure that's the price it will eventually have when you see it in the store, it tends to be lower once it's out.

How the day ended: Ordered the LG C2

Should've known better than to check out this thread. Very Happy

If you want to use a monitor as TV, it should support HDMI CEC:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Consumer_Electronics_Control

Mine doesn't and now I have to manuallly adjust the volume until I buy something new Sad

But doesn't people says that OLED might give "burn-in" issues?...Like, stay too much playing a game with X brightness and it's UI might get burned into the screen, where you'd see a tiny bit of such UI on white spaces?

I had an issue like this with my Galaxy A52 5G where leaving an AFK game too much on 100% brightness with the game's "sleep mode" (Black screen but big white numbers) would burn such numbers into the screen to be seen later on on, let's say, Play Store's App Update section

Guess i could probably go back for the search of a better 24"-27" monitor to upgrade my TN 24" one. It's just hard to find one that has what i need without , hopefully, many issues (backlight bleed, etc)

I wouldn't go mind TN again as long as there's improvements somehow (anti-eye flickering, blue light reduction, the usual new important eye care features) compared to my BenQ XL2420T, but going IPS well, could be good, could be not (russian roulette)

Was recommended a MSI 27" monitor but many people says many things and well, stucked in my place

...Better than paying 1K€ for burn ins....

Yep, no matter how much people deny it on subreddits and YouTube comments, OLED still has burn in issues.

It's no where near as problematic as it was before and various preventive actions have been taken, but it's still a risk, even if it's a small one.
The problem of burn in is not completely eliminated.

Well, I just realized I have burn in at my OLED Samsung S9+.

I am planning on getting S23 though. Wonder if there is a less risk of getting at, at newer models.

Here's how it happened to my A52 5G:

-Download the "Tailed Demon Slayer" game
-Play the entire tutorial
-At the bottom left there should be an option to make the game enter into a battery saving mode
-Once on there'll be a clock and an animation of the little fox in a pitch black background

Now put the phone's brightness to 100% (NOT BEYOND IT, aka orange line) and let it be like that for hours

Soon or later it'll burn the numbers at the phone's screen. You'll be able to see the burning if you open, for example, Facebook or go to the Play Store's updates (showing the "no updates avaliable" message) and you might notice it out

Might be time for me to get a new one. Or fix this one.
It works fine, nothing wrong while its on....but if left off for a while and gets cold, entire screen scrambles with horizontal lines that slooooowly clear line by line as it warms up.
And only does it on 100hz, 60hz I found out fixes it (when enough has fixed itself I see 1/2 the screen so I can change the freq).

Not a huge deal as the only time its off is when the power goes out in my house Razz

Not sure if I want a new one, or just replace the board in this one. Most monitors are just 2 boards and a screen. Anyone with a screwdriver to take the back off can replace the boards.
It is about 5 years old, and considering two super ultrawides on each side of it. So might fix it as cannot talk myself into buying 2 new screens AND a new soon to be middle one.

Don't tell me that Razz

I noticed it about 2 months ago, when power went out while was sleeping, so PC was off (mine is always on) and started up and screen was just a zigzag mess at the top the rest blank. But i noticed it seems to slowly 'fizzle' down the screen fixing itself the longer it was on.

Zero problems since then since my PC/monitor is always and it cannot go into standby, until I built this new PC and monitor was unhooked for about 30 minutes. Turn it on, and it got cool enough to get 1/2 way down the screen, top 1/2 was OK.
If its off for like 10 minutes just enough is fuzzy and blank to just not see the task bar at the very bottom until it warms up over a few minutes.

For now if power goes out, I can set it to 60hz until its warmed up, and set it back. But hope it will last a few months more to get a proper upgrade. I already spent my fun time budget I saved on this PC for now.

Went ahead and got this:
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09ZNQX51B

Not the top of the line, but good reviews, and got two friends with them and they recommend it.

I did the puppy dog eyes and "See? my poor old monitor is dying.." to wife after spending all I did to build my new machine just a few weeks ago.

AOC is the shit. My 1440p I got years ago is still going strong. I got a Gigabyte version of what you got and went with VA this time as well. Wasn't sure I was going to like it after being an IPS snob but man, those blacks are so delicious

My god, how'd I miss all that dumb shit KC was going on about lmao. Same idiot who thought having speakers ear level was stupid.

Got my new one in! Really enjoying it, blacks are great Spkyez like you said (better than the other VA), and doesn't have the freesync flicker issues the old one had.

Going to use the old one until it totally dies in place of my vertical 1920x1080 I had on the side in the room I have to put it.
It's a bit absurd an ultrawide in vertical position. Threw together a quick mount made of wood to hold it vertical.

Hard to tell scale in the pic, but its 3 foot tall of monitor:
