Though i have not much idea about how these new OLED monitors are, i have to ask..

But first, i own a BenQ 24" XL2420T TN 1080p monitor, for reference

And second, today ASUS has released the info about this new OLED monitor, 240hz 27 2K, "with a heatsink" and a matte anti-reflective film (Good for me. I don't like seeing my own face reflected while watching a movie or anything...I already have my TV for that!)

https://www.notebookcheck.net/ASUS-presents-ROG-Swift-OLED-PG27AQDM-with-240-Hz-1-000-nit-and-2-5K-display.678513.0.html

Questions:

1. Do they have backlight bleed? (Like IPS, borders lighted up "because")

2. Besides being a gamer i also draw. Are these OLED monitors good for Photoshop etc?

3. Heard that OLED might give out "burn in" crap. Would that be much affected while gaming or doing Photoshop works or simply browsing?

4. Any angle is good to be seen without and dark motion like in with TN monitors?

5. Do they have eye caring protection? (Blue light, anti-flicker..)

6. For reading, would they be ok? (Seen a vid that the LG 27" OLED monitor has like text ghosting or something)

But i'm gonna ask the big question... Would it suit me or should i look something else?. Price's not an issue even though these bastards are around 1K €

Preferences: Gaming (nothing online competitive. Think of DOOM ETERNAL and other adventure/action games and other genres), art, movies...

RYZEN 3800x and RTX 2070 SUPER. Not sure if i'll have issues with it or not...Don't want to change the entire MB and CPU..

Just look at the people buying OLED monitors, they buy new monitors every 1-2-3 years, not because the OLED monitor they bought would be bad or so. those people just always want the newest stuff, money doesn't matter and if it has any problems, who cares they will buy a new one any way soon.
Are you one of those people? if not wait until you get them for a normal price 300-500 euros.
before that, it's not worth your money.

OLED monitors are 100% fine if you can live with their cons. Major issue is maximum brightness due to OLED's weak brightness in general,

Burn in is not as common issue as some people might indicate. In theory they are still 100% possible but that doesn't mean that they will occur even years after regular usage. We have to admit that OLED PC monitors are still quite new thing so we dont have any data to back the claims in a way or another.

OLED displays do not use backlight in the same way as old fashioned non FALD LCD displays. That's why OLED displays' contrast ratio is literally infinite as the contrast is as large as lighted LED vs OLED's materials with no power on. The black means as black as the physical material of OLED screen can be.

Another huge advantage for OLED displays are view angles where colors do not shift at all regardless of your viewing angle.

5. Eye caring protection means calibration. Don't spend any extra money on what-not technologies but instead calibrate your monitor. That will provide you 100% correct colors and proper brightness to save your eyes and your brain. Blue light is usually caused by blue color oversaturation ie. monitor's color adjustments are all over the place.

6. OLED is great for reading due to low brightness levels. No one wants to read the text written on our Sun. Smile However ultrawide OLED displays do suffer from poor text quality but that that can change at some point. Do your research before purchasing one.

I hope these answers will help you with your decision. Smile

Aw3423dw best monitor on the market. Hdr performance is unparalelled, gsync module, instant pixel response, no ghosting, true blacks and price is extremely good and also 3 year burnin warranty, biggest fear when buying oled.

Nothing comes close.

That 27" LG OLED sounds the tits but it has some shitty anti glare coating on it that makes blacks appear grey in certain lighting. Rolling Eyes Also probably vaporware, so many OLED monitors in the last couple years aren't available to purchase.

The prices in here seems to get more and more reasonable, I might get it soon, I am getting QD-OLED monitor this year depends on the price and the models that will be available.

Only rainmeter skin I like. All the others are too much style/look over substance.

Working perfectly for me. 3 year burnin warranty so also not an issue. By the time it burns in you’ll either get something else or if still in that 3 year period a new panel for free as replacement.

Best monitor i’ve owned. Also looks better than my CX which i use with my ps5. It’s qdoled after all, the HDR is better.

No fan noise unless i stick my head near the top or back of the monitor and even then it’s barely audible.

Oh yes we all know comments like those, for example from people with x570 boards.
"no no you can't hear the fan or only if you go close to the case"

Some people may actually don't hear it, some try to ignore it to justify their purchase but i bet all my money on it, i would here it. A fan in a display is unacceptable

under load my ProSiphon cpu cooler is much more audible than my x570 board's chipset fan..
and on idle you can't distinguish one from the other

You can think what you like but i’m actually super sensitive to sounds and even the fantiest coil whine bothers me.

There could be something else though. They might be using different fans on different regions / revisions. Like the ps4/ps5. Where some are indeed louder. But that’s just a maybe, no idea if it’s indeed the case here.

A bit late, but I also have the monitor. Have it since November 2022 and I don't regret buying it at all.
About the fans. You can hear them, but only if it's really quiet and even if you can hear it, I don't think it's an annoying sound. Probably nothing for people who go for silent setups.

I assume you're talking about an 42'' LG OLED TV. Did you change the HDMI port icon to PC in the settings? Only this way you get full 4:4:4 chroma subsampling (which would solve you unsharp letters issue). Would be quite funny to bitch about a product that you don't know how to use properly Wink
