To me that reads more like a series of quests (storyline) that are now locked behind a paywall. Not good kurva's, not. good.

Nothing funny there, friend...
You'd be surprised to learn what the 'norm' is for others...
Per volume, SSD prices are still high for MANY people around the world.

if you use a SSD for a few games and HDD's for movies etc it's something anyone who can afford a (relatively modern) PC could afford. it's a modern game with modern requirements including a good graphics card which is likely 4x as expensive as the cheapest SSD.

u know even a microsd is good enough to game on these days ... ask all them steamdeckers ...
HDD serves it purpose well, ssd is faster, m2 is overkill
my raid 0 HDDs still competing on load times for older games

two more screens from that article:
Spoiler: | |
looks pretty good, at least those textures, the areas do look good. 100gb game confirmed?
only questionable thing i notice is the direct pointers to enemies on the compass, i don't recall stalker having this. although they did have the number of stalkers in the area at the top of the screen.
i'm going to assume that because the enemies are visible all the time, they are complete crap at flanking and are mostly just sandbags here, the ai being semi-intelligent was half of the reason why i like stalker in the first place.
also good to hear it has modding at release, can't wait to see what a fucking nightmare UE5 modding is going to be like, if UE4 was anything to go by.

So along with the Cordon, the Bar is also recycled? Is this going to be Clear Sky 2 (and I'm saying this as someone who loves Clear Sky)?

GSC will supposedly showcase some stuff at GDC 2023 next week, so maybe we'll get to see something more recent/tangible there (or maybe not)
It would be a dream come true if despite all the tribulations and the bad omens this cursed sequel actually came out and didn't disappoint, not completely anyway. The body has built up a strong immunity to all kinds of radioactive disappointments at this stage, but seeing STALKER 2 fail miserably would still rattle my jaded heart

looks.. decent, but nowhere near as good as it looked in the first screens released. i guess that's to be expected.
stalker (2007) was miles ahead graphically at the time i would say, it has held up way better than most 3D games from 2007-2010.

Not sure what you expect, i mean its still Chernobyl we are talking about and its not like UA goes there and rebuilds everything from scratch. For sure we will see many places being reused. | I expect new maps like CoP did instead of re-using old ones, *again*. If they're only using these two + pripyat and the npp then it's all good, but if it turns into clear sky then I'll be disappoint. Or maybe "remake" the old maps but with more explorable stuff in each one, like adding interiors to the whole rostok area.
But it it's the same exact maps and with the game not being mod-friendly at all this time around, well...
