Its his, and 3 cards old from me at this point. If he wanted to beat it with a hammer and catch it on fire the instant I gave it to him. His call, it's his now after all.
Now when they was younger and I paid for the parts new for their PC's I would hound them all the time about it. But you got my used parts? Use it as a hammer as far as I care.

Ray Tracing dont matter to me, nothing I play uses it. DLSS I will see. If I can get vsync frame rates no need for it, and I can get that on the 7900xtx.

It'll do everything the XTX can do + more, I don't see how it can come out on top
Since you've already bought it, it takes the price to performance ratio out of the equation, which would have been the only thing the XTX had going for it

I would without hesitation if he needed it. Or it benefited him more. But he doesnt play anything that one would be better than the other. Most intense games he plays is Ark, and elden ring. The rest is games like LoL, Rounds, Risk of Rain, etc.

Meh indeed.
There is no reason to pay 400-500€ _EXTRA_ for this over second hand 3080. NVIDIA keep asking pandemic/crypto prices though both are ’so last season’. At least for now.

Yea, no way I can see paying nearly $1000 with tax for any xx70 nvidia card. Not until inflation catches up in years to come to make it equal in cost to the old prices anyway.

Yea, I'm sure there is reasons beyond my experience. But I dont know why more dont use the rear venting design in 3rd party designs. Everytime I had a GPU that was blower -> rear exhaust the PC as a whole ran cooler and overall quieter.
Like this 7900xtx dumps heat right out the side into the side glass direction. Way more air needs to move to remove heat that is blowing out the card into the case in a direction no air is moving already. I can feel the spot next to the card on the glass is warmer than any other point on it. You could close your eyes and run your hand on the glass and say "Your vidcard is right behind here."

Second hand 3080 (with warranty) is a no brainer atm. 4070 Ti is nowhere near worth it's price difference.

Do you guys really think this will get better any time soon or at all?
Just check other things, like Tickets for Concerts for example. "Normal" People can not or will not afford them anymore for quiet some time now.
We are not the target audience anymore. They rather sell less for more money and make it more exclusive and it seems to work just fine.
I really doubt that this will change again.

I wouldn't lower prices, gamer happy to be ripped off at this price and the crypto space is bigger than the gaming space. Anyone with sense buys a console, then your left with middle aged men with disposable income buying these cards.

That's right DX, you fall in the pay extreme prices for GPU demographic. They are aware the pricing is BS, but know ppl like you and me (last gen, but not anymore) will pay.
They aren't stupid, they know their customers. I doubt anyone on this board has less than a 2080ti.
