I only enjoy survival games that can provide the mighty combo: remarkable atmosphere + strong sense of immersion + interesting lore/mysterious story that gives you an incentive to progress through the hand-crafted map (foreveralone single-player only of course), so this Obsigame is a rather weak effort to me both in terms of approach and presentation.
Essentially, it misses most of the traits that I appreciated in Subnautica (the unassailable king as far as I'm concerned), The Forest, and the underrated Green Hell. I've yet to try The Long Dark but I will when (if) they'll finish releasing the single-player content.
I played the game some times ago (preview thingy) with my kids and we had great fun.
As @Yondaime already said anything I would have
I will just add there are some extremely cute creatures out there but also extremely deadly ones as well ...
It was actually fun to hear my kids be like "awh soooo cute" and then suddenly screaming of fear like "OMFG a giant spider is coming for us, daddy help !"
PS : does this make me a bad father ?

Even souls-like lovers might find this attractive, it's not easy by any means, you will get your ass handed to by most things in this game if you're not equipped well enough. The tone became CONSIDERABLY darker with 1.0 the more you progress in the little story bits. You're gonna get well worth of 40 hrs out of this, easily.
Highly recommended, yarr it, buy it but either way it's very enjoyable in all aspects.

I'm playing it with my nephew and my SO. It's so good! Great graphics. Very good sound. Great world - it's not so big but really well constructed - very good"verticality". It's quite challenging - even when you think you are already OP you meet something bigger and better. Building could have been better, but it's still ok. Some bugs and poor UI. Nonetheless, we're having a blast!
