though i guess they couldn't mention the name of the actor or actress, that would get them in trouble.
will be kind of funny with indie games with a $500 budget and millions worth of voice acting (and art). i mean what, can they do? "This sounds a lot like me!" sure, but its not you, it's just someone(something) that "happens" to sound like you. same with art, "this looks 95% like mine..." sure, no laws against being very inspired, unless i try to also put that artists name on that art.
it's been like that with music for ages.. people with very similar voice, or people sampling other artists but being creative with it to make it their own.
One thing is certain, a lot of celebs will get pissed.
my first own model, it makes sci-fi doors and wall panels, fitting games like KOTOR etc.. i fed it 200 1024x1024 images of simple but very symmetrical shapes (done in Filterforge).
Spoiler:
My next idea is to take 200 of these newly created images, feed them back in again to improve the result. But it's already really, really good. For fun i unpacked Doom3 Eternal to see how these would compare to the diffuse maps, they're easily just as good most of the time.
And yes 3D textures in their pure form does look kind of boring, they're not supposed to have lights on them or any exciting angles going on, so if you aren't used to looking at unlit textures its probably not very impressive looking.
Anyways, shows how useful this would be to a single developer, he could have 200 wall and door textures for his 3D sci-fi game within 20 minutes, or he could pay someone thousands of dollars + spend months with it...
all images are from the same prompt/batch, not everything it does is this brown'ish... i told it to render "a gritty door to fit in star wars". they're brown because of "gritty".

seriously though, it's strange that it's even an argument from (some) artists, they just need to adapt, they can improve their own art with AI, and not just a little. I'm no great artist, still i can accomplish something decent with this, a trained artist, he will outdo me if he learns the same stuff i can do.
KOTOR 256x256 transformation. Good damn are those textures fucking awful..
It's more important than ever to preserve these good old games i think, make them matter and make them playable even for newer audiences. Super dedicated to updating them, got so fucking pissed when i browsed the graphics mods on Nexus, fucking idiots import the textures to photoshop, upscale them to 1024x1024 (see the result below, that's a simple PS upscale to compare to the new) and they call them "hi-res pack". yeah its not hires dude and they have have hundreds if not thousands of upvotes, and they are getting paid for it via Donation Points. lol.......
It's almost scary what ChatGPT can do with a very short an non-descript request:
So yeah, when they cross-link AI Chat <> AI image generation <> AI music generation <> AI animation etc. we'll see an utter explosion of AI entertainment that anybody can do in the bedroom.
a new plant model i'm working on, looking decent so far.
I especially like how it's so easy to put snow on plants now, this is very hard to get right in photoshop, it rarely looked good (tried filters, manually trying to copy/paste over snow, photographing snowy plants - nothing looked as good as this).
Over the years i've made in total ONE snowy plants image that is rather great looking, and that's the model it uses for all snow now
took it 7 hours to learn around 80 of my textures (1024x1024)
Spoiler:
and some more sci-fi stuff, improving the model as i understand more of what the hell i'm actually doing
ah colorful = blue oyster = gay? a bit far fetched, but ok. no, the model is still capable of doing stuff i showed in the first image, but i wanted to show some more colorful examples to not just repeat myself. but yeah its also important to not go overboard with complexity and colors.
looks like garbage of course, but this will improve and will look stunning in a year or so. Just go to the first page and you will see how much AI has improved in less than a year..
If that doesn't load images, hit cntl-f5. Its a quick and dirty image gallery I made so dont expect wonders.
