Well, anyone with eyes can see it's like a mobile game. Add to this the braindead AI and the reportedly plain bad strategic map, and the bad reviews are warranted.
random review from steam. Of course it looks like a mobile game and the UI is atrocious since it's a console game. You can't zoom, can't change elements and everything is gigantic because this is designed to be played from the couch, with a pad and you need to have vizibility from far away.
Can't believe we ended up losing even RTS games to this controller design bullshit. Everything else, a lot of reviews mentioned how this is unpolished and half backed in all its modes. The secondary single campaign, the one that's like COH 1 and 2 is seemingly 5 to 6 hours.
Shame that egotistical little twat did not work on this instead of Hogwarts.
I'm not paying £50 for this, what a fucking rip off. No game is worth that.
Hogwarts must really posses a cloak of invisibility for people not to see the mediocre writing, all the console bullshit design and that Ubisoft-like checklist "content" among many other problems.
On the topic of Company of Heroes 3. I played a mission besides the forced tutorial. It's not too great, it's not too bad either.
I spotted plenty of technical issues like: slow-motion animations, glitching textures, the barrels not aligning with the shots, etc.
There's a looting animation that is plain stupid. No respectable RTS or RTT should have projectiles flying out of a box when interacting with a lootable crate.
The camera zoom in doesn't seem all that different than the one in CoH2, maybe a bit more zoomed in. But the UI is full of tasteless and bigger than needed elements.
The AI isn't all that reliable. The tanks are often way too hard to control, an issue that CoH2 also had at launch.
At least the performance and graphics are better than in the last Beta. But It's not a leap forward from the predecessor, in fact, some technical aspects seem worse.
Like CoH2, this has been released way too soon. But there's another more dire problem, CoH3 has been touched by consolization and this is not so easy to fix, if it's fixable at all.
This is one of those game series where I just don't see any improvement since COH1 to be excited about. It looks exactly the same, COH1 was released in 2006! the graphics should be better.
Im having fun with it - but not without mods.
There is still quite alot of things it needs to become the game i want, and im sure it will arrive at some point. It's only frustrating that they have so much good stuff to pick from part 1 and 2 - and still they don't include it from the start.
Its pathetic that you need a zoom mod btw.
shitloads of new stuff in my pc. Cant keep track of it all.
