I have to say however after playing this for a while that aside from the beautifully rendered environment assets, if you aren't a big Harry Potter fan this game is pretty god damn meh.

They do that throughout the game. They were either too broke to record lines of dialog with different pronouns, or they didn't want to 'upset' players by assuming they identify as either.

So I finished the main story yesterday, with mixed feelings.
On the one hand, the art direction and world building is fantastic. Discovering the castle in the beginning, seeing all the different places really felt magical, like reading the books or seeing the movies for the first time. And, besides the caching issues solved by the engine config, it was absolutely bug free. When has that happened in the last years, a big title released in almost perfect state?
Now, the bad part... it devolves into the usual, empty feeling open world drag far too quickly. The items you find are level scaled crap, making dungeon exploration almost meaningless. Also dungeons are just two flights of stairs most of the time, with sometimes a small puzzle, but why even solve that for useless gear?
Then you can craft stuff onto the items, but that requires interacting endlessly with your animals, with set timers, delaying it needlessly.
I skipped most of the dialogues after 2/3rds of the game, because the main quest wasn't all that interesting or meaningful, as were side quests.
I just hope the mod community steps in, they seem very interested so far, because the world design is just too precious for these boring game systems. Hand placed loot with fixed special attributes and no level scaling would go a long way, then make animal breeding the main way to get money, and rare resources gainable only through combat and we might get somewhere.
Also, why are enemy wizards all over the place? Fighting a wizard should be rare and highly dangerous, like when you met another jedi in Jedi Academy. They shouldn't be everywhere and be wiped out easily by a 14 year old brat

finished, level 30 and around 30h, very few side quests left but couldnt be bothered as they are same cave exploring or collecting shit.
like i said previously, the world, music, combat is really great, the intro especially is very strong in this one, hooks u up so fast. rest kinda mediocre, that said is still a solid 7-8 game.
even if ur not a potter fan u can still apreciate many things about this game
The good thing this game proved is that the crazies are indeed an inconsequencial loud minority. And I honestly wouldn't be surprised that a big percentages are AI twitter bots pushing agendas and not real people.
I'm not even a fan of the game or the IP but it would be interesting if this motivates devs to listen less to crazy voices in the future.
Well, to go back to my field page crashing saga, it turns out I'm not the only one after all
The error apparently also occurs when playing through Epic games browser (didn't know this was a thing), so it's definitely a game related bug, not my pc.
For anyone interested, here's a steam thread about it. The latest proposed solution, that someone else confirmed to be working for him, is to manually update DLSS to the latest version.
