Security and Sneaking are skills.. perhaps he sucked or he didn't notice someone watching him.
Nothing else I've read would imply that the guards are omniscient

what that pic looks liek is someone tryin to prove that its fake by comparing a file in the morrowind folder to the one in the picture been installed. But there is a chance that the oblivion game installer does install a file of same name to same folder that morrowind does isnt there ? maybe both games use same named file

Quote: | I did have a pretty interesting event happen to me as I was playing the game. I'm riding my horse to get one of the waypoints of the main quest and I get attacked by a wolf and a rogue woodsman. It was getting late (just after dusk) so I can barely see the wolf but I hear the arrows from the woodsman landing near me. I get off the horse to take care of them as you can't attack or cast magic while mounted. As soon as I’m off the horse the wolf attacks and chases the horse off into the woods. I break out the sword and shield and chase after him. I catch up to the woodsman and cast a few flares (light fireball spell) at him while moving closer to finish him off with the sword. The spells help provide some light at night as well. I take care of him and then turn around to find the wolf heading my way. After finishing off the wolf, my horse is still no where to be seen so I wander around a bit and eventually find the body of the animal further back in the woods. It looks like the wolf finally caught up to the horse, killed it and then came back to finish me. |

hahaha this sounds funny about the AI
Quote: | 1.One character was given a rake and the goal "rake leaves"; another was given a broom and the goal "sweep paths," and this worked smoothly. Then they swapped the items, so that the raker was given a broom and the sweeper was given the rake. In the end, one of them killed the other so he could get the proper item.
2. In one Dark Brotherhood quest, the player can meet up with a shady merchant who sells skooma, an in-game drug. During testing, the NPC would be dead when the player got to him. The reason was that NPCs from the local skooma den were trying to get their fix, didn't have any skooma, and were killing the merchant to get it. O_o
3. While testing to confirm that the physics models for a magical item known as the "Skull of Corruption," which creates an evil copy of the character/monster it is used on, were working properly, a tester dropped the item on the ground. An NPC immediately picked it up and used it on the player character, creating a copy of him that proceeded to kill every NPC in sight. >:[ |

I wonder if you left the game on overnight what the AI would end up doing? You might end up with a empty world filled with dead NPC's.

That's why they tested so much to make sure the AI isn't totally out of control, still would be interesting though.
One thing's for sure, this game is going to kick major ass.

NOT A FAN?! 4 patches I think not included those included with expansions.
One thing to consider about oblivion compared to morrowind , is oblivion is optimized for scaleability performance wise, morrowind was not, the fpu registers it used was based on pentium 2 technology.

This person "doublebumfun" is making all the fakes. All the fakes came from him and his irc channel. I will provide proof to the mods if needed. Just letting the mods know about him, hes here to screw things up.

Those were actually reasons why they had to "dumb" down the AI.
It was causing too much trouble in the game world that they had to do it.
NPCs were killing eachother, raiding other NPCs homes dry etc.
It's in a podcast or dev diary or somewhere. Interesting stuff nevertheless.
