Very interdasting
(But to be precise, DosBox Staging is a separate fork, the original DosBox is what's hosted on SourceForge's SVN)

I remember having to install alternative MIDI mapper for Windows (Coolsoft) and experiment with 3rd party sound fonts to get it to even remotely sound as on my old Yamaha from 1998. This is really necessary to call it authentic experience.

Analyzing the different sound systems emulation on the latest DOSBox:

Interesting...

I take the opportunity to mention mt32-pi (good comparisons can be found on YouTube)

https://github.com/dwhinham/mt32-pi

I have used it with good results with my mister-fpga. But it's not mainly made to function as sound card for a overpriced emulation box. So should work with windows.

Laughing Please buy our licence Nintendo-sama, pleaaaawse !

Releasing an entire e-book for that purpose is pretty damn hilarious (Sony doesn't need Denuvo in regards with emulation). Wouldn't be an issue if Nintendo consoles' hardware was only slightly less obsolete that it's fairly trivial to emulate even with poor PC specs.. that'd be the actual way to go Razz
Poor Switch won't even be able to handle the triggers Very Happy

Actually switch emulation is quite heavy depending on the game

wonder how the new Zelda will emulate, since it's not released on Wii U it'll be the switch version obviously.

what the hell happened to BSoD Gaming btw? hasn't posted in a year. did he die? anyone know? Such an awesome channel with all the guides and updates about mods for BotW, updates to the emulators, tricks, tips, guides..

What's a good yt channel for emulators these days?

Odd to just leave it like that. he was around those numbers where you likely can make a living out of it. But yeah, maybe just got tired of it.

Works fine with Ryujinx, Cemu doesnt want to open it, ATM the 60 fps patch breaks the audio, but with the 30 fps patch there are no obvious issues so far, i played it for like 1 hour and nothing obviously wrong with it

Why would CEMU open it? You mean Yuzu?

It's worth waiting, they'll update their emulators fairly quickly I reckon. Happens with most big releases I've noticed

They won't update anything relating this game until after it's released

It'll need some weeks at least, BotW emulation on Switch remains performance intensive compared to other games and still needs a lot of optimization compared to games which came out at the same time - and I reckon most people didn't bother with it and just played the nearly-identical version on WiiU/Cemu, which didn't encourage development on its Switch emulation either.
Still, it's going to be a tricky one to emulate, but you can bet those emu devs will make it their top priority.

The fact that it's already reaching 60fps+ on Ryujinx on day 1 is very encouraging already Smile I've skimmed through a 6hr+ playthrough and it seems like it's rather playable already.

Not that I really care about this game though, couldn't get into BotW at all. Very Happy

That's what they did in the xbox original and xbox 360 era. Don't forget those ports with almost no settings and shitty mouse control and keybinds.
