Rumor's of king kong working on MPH loader 1.1, it loads and save's but you can't read the text when loading or saving. Have to use fake updater to get 2.5 files.
Edit: Exit JAP works.

Cant we replace the PRX's into the US/UK version? Also, do we need 2.5 to make it work?

The flaw in the idea is that any 2.0 game can be run using the 2.5 firmware, there is no need to use different files, just the higher firmware files. The biggest issue we have right now is decrypting and in some circumstances, finding the needed PRX files for the games. SFA doesnt run because there is a "fontlib" prx (something like that) which is not found in any other game.. without being able to decrypt this, we're screwed..

You see , Thats the problem.. GTA:LCS won't run using 2.5 firmware, while megaman UMD runs on 2.5 firmware.
if you want to play GTA:LCS ISO you would need to use 2.0 firmware dump, and if you wanted to play Megaman UMD you would need to use 2.50. You would need to keep changing firmware dumps to play different games.
I'm sure this is the case with other game's as well. That's why i came up with the idea.

I've been working on this a little bit today and i think i've completed most of it.
This is a little modification i've made to MPH Game loader,
This release is intended so you can use both firmware's without having to switch over the dumps all the time.
How have I modded this?
I have modded the MPHLoader200 EBOOT.PBP to call mphloader200.prx
this redirects to use the firmware 2.00 dump
I have modded the MPHloader250 EBOOT.PBP to call mphloader250.prx
this redirects to use the firmware 2.50 dump
I have modded mphloader200.prx to use 2flash0/1 folder's
I have modded mphloader250.prx to use 25flash0/1 folder's
My planned install directorys :
Code: | ms0://MPHGameloader/mphloader200.prx
ms0://MPHGameloader/2flash0 <--- FIRMWARE 2.00 DUMP REQUIRED
ms0://MPHGameloader/2flash1 <--- FIRMWARE 2.00 DUMP REQUIRED
ms0://PSP/GAME/MPHGAMELOADER200
ms0://PSP/GAME/MPHGAMELOADER200%
ms0://MPHGameloader/mphloader250.prx
ms0://MPHGameloader/25flash0 <--- FIRMWARE 2.50 DUMP REQUIRED
ms0://MPHGameloader/25flash1 <--- FIRMWARE 2.50 DUMP REQUIRED
ms0://PSP/GAME/MPHGAMELOADER250
ms0://PSP/GAME/MPHGAMELOADER250% |
I still have a little bit more work to finish it off, I'll let you know how this works out.

works ok with most games, save screen text disapears after wakeup on some games and its best to pause the game before you sleep it
also ive had no luck with gta. every time i try to wake it up it just goes to a loading screen and loads something forever, i let it sit for 10mins and it was still loading so...

Couple of JAP releases to add to the start of the thread
I.Q.Mania.JAP.ReadNfo.PSP-SUSHi
Bomberman.Bakufuu.Sentai.Bomeber.Main.JAP.ReadNfo.PSP-SUSHi
and my question above about pacman is still valid.

I think this will enable users to run dbz AND older iso's using 1.1. To my understanding to run DBZ (with sound) you needed a mix of 2.0 and 2.5 firmware, and to run GTA you needed pure firmware.. maybe this fixes that?
Although, I cant be certain. Might be worthwhile testing this method with some of the none working games, or just testing it for overall compatibility.

"meimg.img" and "me_sdimg.img" dont even exist in fw2.0. I don't even see how this "switch" could work. Unless the code for utilising fw2.5 files is already built into the loader, but he got those two files functions confused.

My guess would be that the loader doesnt rely on a particular firmware, as it seems unlikely he would have coded something to call specific files within the firmware, when he could just code a program to pull the firmware as if it where installed, on demand. (man, Im not making much sense today.. but I know what I mean..)

In the Dragonball Z fix flash files they are located in:
\vsh\resource NOT \kd\resource
???

but this would be changing ALL of the files from 2.0 to 2.5, rather than just the odd few in the fix. I beiive the changed files are those in the \kd\ folder..
