Recently fellow humper konkol84 received a ban on Steam due to suspected fraud. He was trying to use several Mastercards to top-up his fake Argentinian account directly, something that should have just worked.
The ban is pretty light: he can still play and login, but can't buy or activate anything and use family sharing. He has opened a ticked with Steam support and has been waiting at the moment of writing for 4 days for their response.
My question is: do you think he'll be permabanned?

As I wrote: suspicion of fraud. My guess it was not him trying to top up the account in ARS, but using several cards in rapid succession, since he wrote he tried several times using different options (argentinian billing adress, normal address,curve mc, normal mc,using VPN).
I mean Steam bans you from the market for 3 days when you add a new method of payment unless you verify it separately, so they definitely have automatic methods set up for suspicious activity like that.
