I tried it yesterday with EA pass. Downloaded in an hour, which was nice. Wanted to give it a go as I'm usually lucky on the performance, but it's abysmal with my 2080, despite 64 gb ram
No ray tracing and 1080p gives a meager 30-40fps, even in scenes when I'm just looking at a door. Everything else on ultra, the game doesn't look that great anyway.
It's more fun gamewise than I expected, as the platforming looks and is very clunky. The wall-jumping-against-the-same-wall in particular is terrible
Loot and as result workbench and vendors, are completely useless too.
There must have been a door there in the wall, when I came in.
Truly gone fishing.
If you have the game via ea play pro you can generate tokens. That means at the end of the month you can keep playing indefinitely. O more updates after that though
+You can create up to five tokens per day for other ppl
And someone here had a problem with me not being a fan of this channel...
I can't recall the thread where that discussion came from nor can I find the posts about it, sorry - what's your main reason for disliking them after all ?
(Think Stefan's right on that one )

My first session was tonight after the patch and it runs mostly fine for me. There's still some shader compilation and traversal stutter but it's not at all CPU limited like the various videos showed. Getting 80+ fps pretty much all the time and GPU usage is maxed out. Settings are 4K, FSR Performance, no RT, Epic-preset.
Fun game!

Well, patch did fix low GPU utilization on my side. I was so CPU bound before the patch that my RTX4080 had like 40-60% utilization all the time, no matter the settings.
After the patch, utilization is expected 90+ percent most of the times and fps is much better.
I played a bit yesterday. The performance is bearable trash, if that makes any sense. But this has been said a lot, what hasn't been said a lot is how bad the combat animations are. The combat sequence look so stuttered, it hurts my eyes. Playing with dual wielding lightsabers is unbearable.
I'm getting about 15-20 FPS extra with the latest patch, so definitely an improvement here. GPU stays mostly above 80%, while CPU stays around 30%, and this gives me at least 75FPS.
The open world is still problematic, and dips to 50FPS and lower. Strangely, GPU dips also to 50%-60% when this happens (CPU keeps it at 30%), so there's something funky going on here.
