That background image is one of the very first screenshots of the game ever which suggests to me its fake but it does look genuine.

On the new video they just released, "The Gates Open in One Week" one, pay attention to the hill infront of the character from 13 - 15 seconds into the clip. The grass on the ground fades into view from like 2 feet infront of him. Some draw distance eh?

Don't get me wrong...given the demands of the engine that's most likely a good thing. But still, its a bit short draw distance IMO (and you can rest assured that video was filmed at insane resolution with all settings maxed out, as ALL promo videos).

looks like this movie is from the x-box360 version Very Happy

So the draw distance on grass and foliage isn't that huge.. I don't really care. I'm sure there is an option to cut it up if you don't mind sacrificing framerate.

They've said that the game wouldn't have a playable framerate maxed out on any current rig.. so I'd imagine that the promo was taken with mostly high settings, maybe a few things set to max.

Um...... sure, except for the xbox 360, since "they" have also said that it would look identical to the pc version with maxed out graphics.. At 60fps average.
Actually notice the correct text in the licence agreement =D

the best fake so far, but its still a fake, no game puts its system requirements on the install screen, and they wont use that screenie for an install

Watch it be real now.. i hope!

EDIT: is the offical website down? i guess people realy are looking foward to it

60fps? I've only seen 30 and locked at 30 for the 360. Got a link to where it says either version will average 60 fps?

not that it matters, really.. just out of curiosity Smile

Nice link! So basically no matter how souped up your PC is, it will look identical to the 360 version at its best?

that is the official line. Though we've seen screenshots in the PC section of the site with larger grass view distance than those in the xbox section, so I wonder about the "xbox 360 version is the pc version maxed out" comments and whether or not they pertain to everything in the game.

None of it matters, though. The game is going to be a treat on any platform. If I had a massive HDTV and a 360, that is where I'd be playing it.. on the couch in front of my TV.

Since I don't, I'll be enjoying it on my PC and my widescreen monitor. I don't care if the xbox version is prettier or uglier, I just want to play Cool

Most people will probably say yes to this. But thats their opinion. Not to start anything but some of the screenshots I can clearly tell which is the XBOX 360 version and which isnt and not because of their resolution. Some of the screenshots need anisotropic filtering bigtime.
