I remember thinking they'd eventually make a spin-off with him, considering he's the one thing the TV show has over the comics, and that he got pretty popular, I guess (seems like he's an okay guy).
Hold on though..

What the everliving fuck ? In France ?! How the hell would he wind up there, and why ?
It actually looks like Dead Stranding French delivery simulator

It makes as much sense as Darryl time travelling into the future and arriving at a moonbase.
What are you talking about? Makes total sense: it's about saving costs. They don't need to pay for sets, since most of it looks already like a post-apo shithole anyway

Someone didn't go to Paris in the recent years
Sure, but it's still a "light" version of that pretty much everywhere, except around the nicest areas, if a friend that went there 2 weeks ago is to be trusted.

He's exaggerating.
The second picture must have been taken during the garbage disposal strikes, the first is likely some kind of gipsy camp I guess ? You'll find such camps in industrial activity areas or alongside suburban train rails more often than not, I'd be interested to know where this first spot is actually ! Looks very urban-eerie.
But yeah, streets in Paris don't look like that at all, save for a couple hot spots (Stalingrad, Pte de la Chapelle, etc) that might look nearly as bad in isolated spots near the garbage containers (not out of the blue in the middle of the street) - even then, just before garbage disposal comes in to clean it up. Trash just doesn't pile up like so regardless of the arrondissement you're in.
However, I totally agree that the streets aren't clean to a pretty awful standard compared to other international capital cities I've been to, and that much is actually true without any need to exaggerate. Street-walks are usually stained in some capacity, mostly by dog poo/pee that is way too present since French owners still routinely don't want to clean their mess up - the French take a while to integrate new stuff they are asked to do, and picking up their dog's shit is taking them a godawful amount of time Cigarette butts are also a major littering issue, but what would be ze Parizian without ze zigarette !
PS : If anyone does end up watching this, I'd be curious how the fuck Daryll got to fucking France out of all countries, when his starting point were the US. Really curious about it !
