I do expect this to feel similar to when Skyrim was launched (or FO3), that yes i will be impressed by how it feels fresh, like something new. Not really like when FO4 launched and to me it was "well its just another Beth game, i'll play it at some point." (i didn't...)
I bet i will like it to start with and as i progress i will be less impressed and i will get annoyed. I'll gladly go back and throw egg on myself if that's not the case though
skyrim launch hype was something, had the trailer on repeat here that one lived up the hype honestly
i can't even remember how fallout 4 launched, i did play it but i think i actually played it even less than 76... was pretty hyped for fallout 3 though and played that quite a lot, even though i was salty about the downgrade from being an actual RPG series.
starfield, i am pretty hype again. but not for the rpg side of the game honestly, i've given up on bethesda being able to do good writing (maybe i will be surprised ). i am fully hype for hopping worlds, blowing up some dudes in my spaceship and blasting people on random moons and loot cool looking nasa-themed shit.
oh yeah and settlements/building. i liked that a lot in 4 but it was only good with mods.
edit: also worried i will just get bored though and end up waiting for mods
If you like the settlement building i think you will like this, likely it has advanced quite a bit..
One thing to notice is that for FO4 and Skyrim they had 100 people on the team, now they have 500 people and this game took around 1-2 year longer than previous games too. If that's not doing a difference then well, that's pretty bad!! I actually do think this will be a bit more polished and if we are to believe these 3 dudes, it is..:
Question:
Is there any version of Xbawx Gamepass which let's you play the game on Sept 1st? Or is it exclusive to the typical cash-grab premium edition?

If I'm not mistaken, you would have to purchase a "Premium Edition Upgrade" (around 30 bucks) in order to play on September 1st on Gamepass, Ultimate or not.

There is a MS Turkistan method available which works out cheaper

Quite cheap in fact, but I'd like to avoid the MS crap... Just thought I could squeeze in the Sept. 1st with gamepass to see if the game is really worth a dime before actually buying it.
Besides that, I think there's a pretty strong chance that this one doesn't have the D so the isodemo might be released as sson as the game is unlocked on thursday/friday, unless they come up with something like FO76 and require the player to be online, but judging by the recent leaks I strongly doubt this will be the case otherwise ppl would already be rambling about it, but you never know what the sleezy devs can come up with these days
Thanks alot for the info though

The best part about it was this:

Lastly, a note on Digital Foundry. You should expect to see relatively prompt coverage of the game by Rich and his team after a separate delivery of Starfield code was provided to them. However, this was provided alongside instruction to me by Bethesda that no other parts of Eurogamer were granted access. This was an unprecedented request, but one I ultimately felt compelled to honour to ensure the access granted to Digital Foundry was not subsequently impacted by any other mandate.

It's ok for them to completely ignore certain games, not review them, indeed pretend they don't even exist, but boy do they not like it when it's the other way around. Enough salt in that whiny article to grit the UK roads for a year.
And when their tantrum got them a code, how fucking pompous do they sound in this last line:
"....we can now begin our work to provide you with Eurogamer's judgement of the game." Their judgement....yeah, right. Like the whole world is gonna be waiting with bated breath for their piece of shit hatchet job 'review'.
The Starfield leaker was arrested last week not for uploading 45 minutes of the unreleased game, but for stealing 67 copies of it, according to a police report obtained by Polygon. Darin Harris, 29, was arrested days after uploading the footage and charged with felony theft — for theft, not leaking.
Dozens of Starfield copies were stolen from a warehouse in Memphis, Tennessee, owned by Vantiva, a logistics company that handles supply chain management and fulfillment. The 67 copies of the game are valued at $2,500, according to an incident report from the Memphis Police Department. (The actual value is likely higher.
Harris began shutting down his social media accounts days later, before being arrested and booked on Aug. 24. Local news outlet Memphis Commercial Appeal reported that police got a warrant to search Harris’ home. They found a FedEx package with a copy of Starfield sealed inside and six copies of the game across two editions, along with marijuana and three handguns, one of which was reportedly stolen.
Alongside the felony charge, Harris was booked on two misdemeanors — one for possession of marijuana, and another for property theft worth $1,000 or less. The felony theft charge is for property worth $2,500 to $10,000. Harris was released Aug. 25 on a $10,000 bond. He’s scheduled to appear in court on Sept. 8.
Vantiva representative Josh Heath told Polygon that Darin Harris was not a Vantiva employee, but declined to comment further “because this is an active investigation by the authorities.”
Genius level intellect showcasing stolen goods on social media. Plus I like how, it appears as such in my opinion, that the charges for stolen goods trump (possibly?) all other charges; and especially possession of illegal firearms! Will probably be out on bail in no time.
At least he got to play the game before everyone else
