In Full HD!
If IGN and Gamespot are only giving it 7/10, it seems Bethesda didn't want to pay them for the review. By next week it will probably end up a 75% average review as more people that are not bound to possibly getting blacklisted start listing more honest reviews.
I am still interested to see how moddable the game will be so looking at the Nexus site later today will interesting as watching some of the streamers play it, it does really look like a washed out Fallout and a lot of those Huds are really ugly so some UI mods look like something that will be needed first.
Don't worry, it will be 99/100 once modders start bringing neolib nazi cryptominers battling sex-slaving AI-assisted xenomorphs near the tannhäuser singularity-gate type-campaigns.
By the way, one of the biggest Polish sites (gram.pl) gave it a 7.8/10.
A quote from the review:
Quote:
I have no idea what version those informants were playing that reported "no bugs in the first few hours," or what they were taking while playing, but that's not true. At least not in the PC version. Glitches attacked me almost from the start, and basically, I think only during the opening sequence, nothing crashed. However, just so it's clear and to give credit to the creators - a hundred hours in, and I only had to replay a save from a few hours before once because a faction quest got messed up beyond repair. As always, pretty frustrating, because the same NPC was a hero of another quest, and in the early stage, I started intertwining them for logistical reasons, and suddenly bam! I finished one task, but due to the NPC's movement between locations, I couldn't finish the second one. It's technically the same person, but somehow different, and they won't respond to the topic we know in a new place.
As for glitches and other stuff - there are a ton! Well, it's not the level of bugginess from the launch of Fallout 76, but an hour without something stupid, funny, or just plain frustrating is an hour wasted. Allow me to list a few, even just a couple of immortal classics - disappearing NPCs, quest markers displaying incorrectly, including the marvelous "elevator loop," levitating key NPCs, randomly mismatched armor and helmet displays in equally random planetary conditions, enemies hovering above the ground with their heads in the ceiling, NPCs walking into each other or into themselves, resulting in bizarre camera angles during dialogues, or even the disappearance of interaction possibilities with characters and environmental elements. Surely, a significant number of them will be eliminated, some might be fixed in the initial patches, but claiming that Starfield is free of bugs is quite far from the truth.
There will be reviewers who tries to find the most boring planet and tell you "this is what this game is!" and there are reviewers who will try to find the most stunning places and say "this is what the game is, look how beautiful it is!". Then there are those that will record all bugs they find and show them in a row "this is what the game is!", and those that shows no bugs. Again, neither is true.
we know how this works they want clicks, both works because the game has its haters and its fanboys, many reviews will pick a side.
From what I heard it seems "New Game +" is something very special and interesting...
No more detail (and I don't want) because spoiler obviously.
Tomorrow I will enjoy the hell out of this baby for sure, whereas others will keep trying to see if they can walk in one direction for more than 10 minutes before hitting an invisible wall or something...
