I am messing with a lot of stuff. Batch console commands in bat files, ini tweaks, mods, mods on top of mods, visual changes and some SFSE scripts. Can't do anything too interesting just yet :/
The DLSS2 mod is much more stable than DLSS3, 3 crashes all the time for me (Purederp's version). And having DLSS on at all makes me continually questions whether or not glitches in the visuals are baked into the game or apart of DLSS. For example, having shadows on anything other than ultra gives really bad banding. Still having frame drops and stuttering using DLSS and a 13700k/4080 - something's seriously messed up.
The more I play the more I see other things have gotten a downgrade. Remember all of that shit about AI routines in older games? Is that even a thing at all anymore? So far even Skyrim seems more advanced in that department
It's hard to take gameplay too seriously when everything is given to you again and again without much effort (no effort really). Thousands of creds for doing not much (or simply advancing through the story), amazing weapons on the 2nd planet visited, free ship, free companion with god-mode from the beginning... at the very least it should have shipped with a survival mode
I still don't believe the A-team worked on this. Maybe the Indiana Jones game they've got coming will have the goods
It's also worth noting the game has dropped from 89% to 81%, it's been trending down for days

if you're just worried about new atlantis, just don't honestly. this area in particular just runs like shit and it's mostly about CPU scaling

I'd recommend the upscaling!
Haven't hit that yet, but mainly because I'm bored out of my skull going too far in any direction without some sort of waypoint to head towards
Sucks coming from FO4 where you can add loads of NPC mods to the world to make it feel alive, to what feels like a downgrade multiplied by a billion. Or RDR2, where you don't have to go long without seeing someone doing something interesting in the world. These planets have almost nothing going on between any two points. Even the creatures are boring.

Again though, they have the Glowing Sea in FO4. Loads of rad storms, effects, creatures that attack you from all directions. Ghouls, deathclaws, radscorpions, Yao guai, patrols, loads of POIs, a settlement - and it's all hand made. Lots of tension on survival. You can cross it with a vertibird. Lots of infighting.
Why not something like that as a base for these planets? It's like some systems in their old games never existed.

Maybe new games are designed by new people with not much of a gaming history. Especially when the hiring criteria is gender pronouns and social media history.
