I liked the old skool UFC. Back in the day when u could attack anywhere with anything - joint locks, knee strikes, pressure point strikes etc...those were awesome. I think the UFC has far to many rules now - still good and I watch it from time to time but I wont buy the ppv events - wait till they come on TSN or I'll rent em
As for K1, not my taste, kickboxing and all the high leg work isnt practical and doesnt mean u can street fight ya know? Sure ur tough as fuck if ur in the controlled environment of the K1 ring, but in a street fight or against someone trained in locks, evading, fighting mechanics and tactics, useless as fuck. There's really no need to kick someone anywhere past said mid thigh. If anything, u step into them with a knee strike and whatever pressure lock u wanna throw on them and bring em down - if u can ground fight. If not, u step right into the fucker's knee as u throw a quick jab and a rabit hook - its hard to block three strikes (or more if ur quick enough before u have to defend an counter-attack) and those are basic manuevers - most effective too

Ever seen REAL muay thai?
They have underground fights in toronto, well they used to, a group of guys from laos and shit. They'd kick these wooden posts with their shins to numb em out and make em bleed, same goes with their forearms, then tape em up and fight....crazy fuckin guys...I wouldnt fight a real muay thai boxer, and Im a pretty confident fighter/martial artist.

I saw ong bak before it got all hyped and stuff and it was great 
some guy at my boxin does muay thai and he got batterd the other week and has metal face plates now  I dont think hes very good 
But yea, there are street fighters etc. which would be more effective in a fight than most world champions. Thats mostly because in professional bouts there are restrictions on what they can and cant do. they might be practicing and perfecting a straight kick to the face whereas a street fighter might be perfecting a more deadly (and illegal) kick to the back of the head (for example of course ).
Put it this way... i'd gladly fight some crazed fucker screamin at me before fighting some 'tough' looking phillipino guy.
